Default tire & wheel question ... for the street

I'll try to make a long story short: I have two sets of C4 stock wheels (17x8.5 fr and 17x9.5 rr) and need new race tires. I want to run all four 17x9.5 for a/x and track days. This leaves me with four 17x8.5 for the street.

Will the narrower wheels (on the back) give me handling problems on the street?

I don't know if you will have handling problems, but you will probably have traction problems. The widest tire you can run on a 8.5" rim is a 255.

If I were you I'd try to find another set of 9.5" rims to use out back on the street. They can be be had cheap on eBay or here on the forum.

Thanks for the input. Finding another pair of 9.5" was my original plan but has proved to be more difficult than I'd expected. Maybe I should keep looking.
