Default BFG KDW2's ???

Just bought some Z06 wheels with fairly new KDW2's on them. I currently have a set of torn up magnesiums with Ecsta MX's that I have been running on the track. Do you guys think the KDW's will handle better on the track than a set of MULTIPLE(4-5 de's) heat cycled Kuhmos? Or should I just finish off the Kuhmos....

I've never uswed the Khumo, but I did put a few thousand miles and two track events on a set of KDW2 tires before I sold my C6 wheels. They were very good on the track; better than I expected. I have a set of Michelin PS2s now, and the KDWs would never get as sticky as the PS2, but the Michelin is a softer compound tire, and I'm sure it will not last as long either. From what I have heard of the Khumo, I expect it is a little better track tire than the KDW, but if your use is HPDE and not competition, you should not hesitate to use the KDW.

Then why are the BFG's so much more expensives than the Kumhos's seems the majority of folks on the forum here say while the Kumhos were okay, they would not go with them again. You get wait you pay for..just my .02

The Kumho Ecsta MX is a soft compound tire and is closer to the BFG KD in terms of dry handling. The BFG KDW tires are supposedly a dry/wet compound tire and the compound used in that tire is somewhat harder than the Kumho MX.

BFG makes some very good tires, but they are more expensive across their line up compared to the Kumho tire line. Kumhos will probably not last as long as the BFG tires due to the differences in compounds and tread depth.
