Default Recommendations for 18's F & R ?

Looks like I am going to 18" wheels both front and rear on my new C6. Have been told the stock size of 245/40-18 in the front should be fine and that 285/40-18 in the rear would be a good fit and compare favorably with the stock 19" size wheel/tire.

What I am wondering is what tires TireRack has that would be good on these wheels.

Thanks Luke.

Yeah, Me to. But I want to put a drag tire on the back. A Nitto 305/35 would be nice. OR a bfg 315. What rims would work also? IM thinking about the SSR's.

Looks like we aren't going to get an answer. Personally, I have decided to go with Toyo T1-S's, which the tire rack doesn't carry. Wish they would but assume there is some sort of issue with Toyo/their dealers/TireRack.

I am also going to all 18" on my C6; probably the CCW three-piece street wheel in 9.5 and 11.0 widths. If you are going to the expense of new wheels, you might want to consider going slightly wider; just be sure you get a set with the proper rear offset, which is almost an inch more than the C5. I am going to use 265/35 and 295/35, the same as the C5 factory ZO6 widths. I think I will use the Michelin PS2, but there are lots of choices in those sizes. I think you might find the 285/40 a bit restrictive in availability. I have a set of the BF Goodrich KDWs now, and it's a good handling tire for the money, but noisy. I used them on the track recently, and was very satisfied.

You are right, the 285/40 is more restricted when it comes to tire availability. I went with the Toyo T1-S which is supposed to be pretty good. The PS2 and GS-D3 maybe even better. The GY isn't available in 285/40. Will see how the Toyo's work out.

Simple...

18x18 and with an agressive enough offset to go as wide as you like. Fitments for both C5 and C6..
