Default What is needed for 92 wheels to fit an 87

I am looking at purchasing some 92 Callaway Bridgestone run flat rims to put on my 87 vert. Can some oneone let me know what is required to make these wheels fit my car? If it takes a 1/2, 3/4 or 1 inch spacer don't you need to also install longer lugs? If so what kind of cost I am I looking at to make the wheels fit?

Thanks

There are adapters available that will allow a factory 88-96 wheel fit earlier C4's. Because the adapters use an acron-style lugnut to attach the adapter to the hub, the wheel must have a recessed area on the inside wheel mounting flange. Factory wheels and a few aftermarket wheels have these recesses between the lug holes. Adapters can run around $200-250.

The alternative is to use a spacer of about 3/4" to put between the hub and the wheel. This extends the wheel (and the load) out from the studs and may cause excessive stress on the studs. Longer studs would be needed and a change to a much stronger stud would be my recommendation.

A 3/4" adapter is what you need to mount those wheels on your car. Even with longer studs I don't think that it would be safe to use spacers. Adapters bolt to your existing studs and then you mount the wheels to the studs on the adapters.
