I have an '87 and considering putting some 315-35-17 on 11" rims- rear only. Any idea how far the tire will stick out? I know the backspace is 7.397". If they do stick out, is there any other backspace that could be used to alleviate this problem? Thanks in advance.

My 86 with 17x11 rear 315/35/17 tires, they line up perfect with the top lip of the wheel well. My off set for the rear is 7.75 but that could be because of the wheel design. See my photos in my sig

Hi.
Will these rims (with 36 mm offset) and 315/35-17 also fit on a car (1987) that has been lowered?
And what about 335/35-17 on these rims. Will that fit on a standard height car or a lowered car?
Would really appreciate an answer from someone with experience on this.

Default ZR1 Rim 36mm offset

I have one rear ZR1 rim for sale in the size you need. It is size 17.2x11x36 94'-95' ZR1 a-mold. This is a genuine GM rim, not a repro. It has the correct GM part number 10214047 stamped on the inside of the rim. The rim is in great condition. Extra pictures available.

Come on, guys, someone out there with these rims and tires (11x17 with 315/35-17) must have an opinion (or guess) on this:
- Is it possible to lower a car like this (1987) or will the tires hit the rear fender?

My car is lowered, and there are no problems at all with clearance. 11x17 with 315's

check out the pics of my 85 with true GM ZR1 wheel.(yes GM wheels) I was running 17*11 on he back and 17*9.5 in the front with spacers. The rears require no spacer if true GM ZR1 wheels pre 88.

I have an 87 and had those same wheels (17x11) 36mm on the rear with BFG 315's.

Had the car lowered with the Vette brakes lowering kit and NEVER had a bit of problems with it rubbing or scraping. They didn't stick out and made the back look W I D E.

Not to mention the traction in the twisties

They're fine, go for it and enjoy

I'll see if I can find some pics and mail them to you.

Hey Codyusa, did you end up getting those wheels? If so do they fit OK?

I assume they are the AFS wheels you are looking at. What I can't figure out is they say the backspace is 7.397" but factory ZR1 wheels are 7.93". Theoretically, that means they stick out a further half inch past the gaurd over standard ZR1 wheels.

Is this correct?
