Default what finish on wheels

im about to get a set of repro c5 wheels and i would like to know what finish holds up better and looks good,i would like to ave a finish that holds up and i dont have to worry about chipping or scraching it off easy if i hit a curb

I don't think any finish is going to hold up againt a curb. That being said, polished aluminum will probably be the easiest to fix if you do get some scratches as you can just sand them out and repolish them.

do you ever have to polish them again if you keep them clean and if you do is it easy to polish them

If they are clear coated like the factory polished ones, then the answer is no. If they are not coated then yes, eventually you will have to polish them again. As for the interval I guess it all depends how often you clean them and under what conditions you drive (rain, snow, road salt, etc.). Using a good polish like Mothers it shouldnt be too hard to shine them back up, but it depends if they have any nooks and crannies where it would be difficult to get into like around the lugnuts.
