Khumo V710 315/35 on 18x9.5?

I want to order new auto-x tires for my set of extra C5 5-spoke (non-Z06) rims. Currently I'm running Hoosiers, but after talking to some folks everyone really loves the Khumos ECSTA V710's. I know I can run the 275/40WR17 in the front, but a friend of mine with a auto shop told me I can run 315/35WR18 in the back on stock rims. The problem is the next size down are only 285's. Before I click the "order" button at tirerack.com and make a mistake , is anyone running this tire size combination on C5 rims? Thanks!! Andy
