Mods feel free to move this as appropriate. I just want to get this info out there in hopes of helping the honest members.

I was being less than vigilant yesterday and working off of my phone (mistake) and took the bait long enough to get the guys info. A quick google search made me aware and saved me a financial loss. Hopefully this post will do the same for someone else. The forum mods also picked up on it and sent me a message, unfortunately it was a little time late. Here is the guys info.

The name, email address and phone number belong to a known scammer who is active on a number of sites. The name and email address have never been used to register a user ID at Corvetteforum, but the scammers typically don't use their payment information as their registration information.

You didn't provide the Corvetteforum user ID of the scammer you encountered. If you have it, I'll check to make sure that user ID is banned and others who were contacted by the user ID are warned. The records show you were contacted by the scammer Brickamp and later warned by moderators.

Moving this thread to Transactions Feedback, where community members from other sections go to research potential sellers.

I hate scammer its sad to see how all these good site are getting infiltrated with scammers. Its even worse on the Facebook pages. Stay vigilant I am a member of a lot of Corvette pages on FB and 90% of the for sale post are scams horrendous.

Sounds to me like a good reason to leave Facebook. I left them after my mother's nurse left our employ.

Searching registrations in the database, that name has not been used in any registration at CorvetteForum. I'm guessing he contacted you offline, rather than through the Forum.
