If you sent it by U.S. post office, then make a claim of fraud to your local postal inspector.

If sent via USPS, Postal Inspector won't touch it for such a trivial amount. Usual amount they will become involved with is $10,000.

If sent via USPS (hopefully flat rate priority for such a bulky item). Best bet is to make the assumption that both parties are telling the truth and make a claim that the item was damaged in transit.

I have dealt with the USPS hundreds of times. I have had zero luck in getting them to investigate fraud. Yet, when I made an online claim for an item damaged in transit and included a tracking number, I was issued a check within a week for the full amount plus my shipping cost.

P.S. No one takes a video of themselves opening a box and plugging in the unit to prove it doesn't work unless they broke it themselves somehow and decided to put it back in the box and try to lay blame on the seller.

Either way, doesn't really matter what i say. Paypal will rule as long as he sends the item back that he will get a refund. So i will get a changer that he busted, or swapped the internals on, and he will get a full refund.

If it was posted there, no one would see it and we would have been denied the entertainment.

It's pretty clear who the scammer is here.

"This CD player doesn't work. I'm going to keep it anyway, and also I want you to give me back my money. WHAT? YOU DON'T BELIEVE ME?!? Well it just so happens I have a video of me taking it out of the box and immediately testing it. What a coincidence, huh? WHAT DO YOU MEAN I COULD HAVE PUT IT BACK IN THE BOX TO SHOOT THIS CONVENIENT VIDEO?!? What do you think I am, some sort of scammer?"

Speaking of Transactions Feedback, why is this dispute playing out in OT?

Horps27 and Aerovette99 should update the thread with the resolution on this dispute. Third-parties with no direct knowledge of the conflict should say out of it.

Send Paypal links to this thread and the other. I doubt it would count as any kind of evidence in their eyes as this could just be two friends going back and forth to make up evidence. I don't think it will fix it for you and you'll probably have to refund if he sends the unit he broke back but he may have a history with Paypal disputes (it sounds probable) and this will just grow or start that history so he doesn't get to screw too many others.

I got a hundred problems and "99" ain't one of them.

I want to make sure there is no confusion between the two of us. If I was sent a CD player, working or not, I would not ask for a refund...because I would not have paid in the first place.

It's a write off.

I issued a refund in the FULL amount that was requested, 85.00. So basically i paid 20$ to give away my changer to this crook. I didn't even ask for it back because by now it is either been swapped for another, messed up internally, or who knows what else. It wouldn't matter what i said in any case here, paypal would rule with him. Hopefully this thread sticks around for everyone else to see, with the link to another transaction that Aerovette99 was shady on and people can see he is not someone to deal with. To everyone that helped me, thanks, thanks for the PM with the link to his other deal where he acted the same way, and thanks for the offers for free changers to be sent to me.

More B.S.

Keep it up. I have lots of people that spoke with me and think just the opposite of what you think.
I don't screw ANYONE over and I'm hardly a crook.
You're such a liar (traveled 50 miles to test it). SURE you did.
You said it was working 2 years ago when you removed it.
You issued a refund before the powers that be had a chance to hear your side of the story.

The OP has had his say and stated the refund was made. The seller has had his say. Everything else is not related.

Per Transaction Feedback rules, the thread will be closed. Let a mod know if there's some additional info that needs to be added. Any additional communication can be handled by PM.
