Default Winshield Decal

http://i1216.photobucket.com/albums/dd362/herkn/002.jpg I bought this decal from Corvette Mods. It looks like a sad face ( they said that it is ok the windshield is curved that's why it looks like that. Really. The one in their ad doesn't look like that. I guess I'll have to go some place else to get one that fits right. Great PR guys.

You're absolutely right. They're a sponsor here. Perhaps you should mention that you're a member of CF.

No way is that right!!! And if that is their attitude about it, it's reason to have serious second thoughts about ordering anything from them.

The decal should have been curved out of the box (smiley face) to contour the windshield... I'm assuming the decal was a straight horizontal?

I'm pretty sure that if you want one that follows the contour of your wind shield you will have to have it made .... As far as Corvette Mods .... I know Neil and have bought and will contunio to by from them them , never had a problem ...

I agree with you James 202 . but sometime every body runs into a problem. I just whant them to admit it and make good. No one is perfect. You happen to know Neal and he takes care of you. I don't know Neal, so what do I do ? I have been on the forum for over 10 years, but that doesn't seem to carry any weight.

Not right in my book they would get it back if it were me who bought it the one thing is that they may not know it is wrong. Printerssome time make them wrong. The curve looks right but is upside down if you flip the car on it's roof then put the C on the drivers side it might look right LOL

Here is what they show on their web site:

http://www.corvettemods.com/C5-1997-...al_p_7640.html

While not perfectly following the contour of the windshield, it looks acceptable. The OP's picture shows something that IMHO is NOT acceptable.

Seems like there is a problem that I would think the vendor would want to resolve. If the response from the vendor was as posted above, then I would have to think twice about purchasing from them.

OP did the vendor receive a copy of the picture or a link to the picture??? Perhaps that will have an effect for the positive on their opinion of this situation?????

By looking at what yours looks like I would say that the decal was layed out wrong from the computer. These decals can be adjusted with different degree of arch to align with the curve of the windahield. I have had them custom made and have had to adjust the arch that the letters are lined on to make them fit. It looks to me these are either arched the wrong way or no arch at all. This is exactly how they will lay on the windshield if that is the case. I would have them pull a decal and look to see how it is arched. Either way they should make it good with either a correct arched decal or refund

What Chuck said... If that doesn't have an effect on their feelings about the situation and you are wanting a refund you should inform mods and go through that channel.

Not only does the picture on their website show the word "CORVETTE" following the top line of the windshield while yours angles the opposite direction. You can't see the edges of the sticker on their example so it looks like the sticker is more of a cut out of "CORVETTE" not a sad face rectangle. Good luck and keep us posted

To clear the air, we offered at 4pm to take the decal back for a refund, however the OP has failed to mentioned that in the string of posts.

The decal is cut with a slight curve, but the way it looks will vary based on how high or low it is placed. The product has been offered for years to members at a great price and this is the first one that has ever had a complaint about it.

Nevertheless, we offered a refund...whether he takes it or not is up to him.

Both parties responded. Hopefully you two can work it out offline from here.
