Default Buyer Beware

Don't buy the aftermarket cold air intake tubes for your breather from Ecklers. They are cheap plastic. I bought a pair and through them away as soon as I opened them. I put my old ones back on.

Why didn't you return them? If you have more money to throw away, I'll send you my address.

I just put one of those on my 78. It was difficult to stretch at first, but works pretty well now that it's on there.

I put the first one on and when I went to lock the retainer it broke. Didn't bother to send them back at that point. Would have to argue about how it got broke. Call it a 40.00 lesson.

FWIW: I think you're being a little unfair to Eckler's. They apparently sent exactly what you ordered. You could have returned them.

According to their return policy the product must be in like new condition. Once its broke its not like new.

I've heard a lot of bad things about Ecklers lately, but really, they may have listened to your story and replaced it. Not exactly the same thing but I returned a hood that was damaged in shipping. After it was all said and done I received a new hood at a substantial discount.

I have been dealing, almost exclusively, with ecklers for the entire build of my '82 over the past year spending, at least, $10K and I have not had even a single problem with orders or service. You bought one $40 item and start trash mouthing? Ummmm....I don't get it.

That was your fault, not theirs. If they were not what you expected when you received them, you could have returned them. Your original post says you threw them away as soon as you opened them.
