Default Anyone else have problems with Corvettes of Houston?

Bought a set of chrome wheels for my ’98 back in ’99 with a lifetime structural warranty. The chrome on these wheels are fantastic, they have held up well for a set of daily drivers that include winter driving.

One of my back wheels has a crack on the outer edge of the rim. I called to see if I could get it replaced. I was told they no longer carry the ’98 style wheel and basically I was SOL.

When I asked if there was anything they could do, (repair or from another business) I was told sorry, no.

Just a bit pissed that they would not cover their warranty.

When they offered the lifetime warranty, they did not specify who's lifetime. I've had the same bum treatment from a furniture store regarding a then expensive recliner; that they wouldn't support shortly after we purchased it.

Can you find a local wheel repair place or send it to one of the venders advertising in the back of Autoweek magazine? perhaps take a picture first to determine if it is repairable.

The warrantee was probably from the manufacturer not COH. Also read the warranty because most warantees are usually written to end up not covering anything in the end. Even lifetime may have prorated lauguage.

I would find out and if the manufacturer you should be able to contact them directly or a current distributor and se what they will do.

Curious, Even if COH replaced the wheel with something equivalent what about the other 3?

COH is an active member and forum vendor I'm sure we'll hear their side...

Not sure, I will have to call GM since they are GM wheels.

This was back when they sent you 4 chrome GM wheels and you sent your factory GM wheels back to them for cores.

Other 3 are OK.

What does the warranty paperwork say about it?

Sorry to hear about your problem, I have not had any problems since I have used them for all of my maintenance and repairs. Victor is a VERY good tech. I have also bought a set of wheels from them a few years ago, but so far so good.

Thats part of the issue.

Whomever they use to chrome their wheels was top notch IMHO. I would like the replacement to be from the same shop.....if possible.

I've always had compliments on my wheels, (if you can believe that from the '98 style wheels).

I bought a nice set of high polish C6 wheels off a forum member and while they are OK, they just dont have the POP of the larger spoke chrome. Even had a set of Y2K chrome wheels on it in the past.

I've got several coats of Zaino on the Arctic White, it needs lots of chrome to even show up on the wheels.

Worth a shot. If all else fails and you still want to stay with the chrome wagon wheels, Ecklers still lists them on their web site.

factory reproductions offers a lifetime warranty on the structure of the wheels and 3 years on the finish. but as they didnt manufactor these wheels they dont actually qualify for that.

we no longer carry those wheels so we can't offer you a replacement wheel. they stopped dealing with the wagon wheels as the gm ones were found to be a bad design and eventually the majority do crack.

im not sure who you spoke to , but i will gladly give you credit for one wheel and you'll have to buy the other 3. as we no longer carry that wheel and i cant just give you the other 3.

go to our website pick out which wheels you like. look at the prices so you'll see i not gonna raise the price on the other three. than give me a call and we'll set up a time to get those put on for you.

ask for matt in parts. 1-800-829-6434
I've never dealt with COH, but this sounds like a fair response.

Warranties are always problematic.
