Fall Color Cruise to N. Arizona?
I was considering a Fall Colors Run up to the North Country sometime but it would have to be soon in order to catch the colors changing. Maybe we could stop by Chino Valley on the way and see Kameron and Crew.
I thought maybe up to Prescott and then over Mingus to Jerome and up through Oak Creek / Sedona to Flagstaff and back down I-17? If someone has a better route that would be more colorful speak up.
I am out the weekend of Oct.16 & 17th but maybe the next weekend Oct. 23rd or 24th.
Who would be up for this kind of event?

Well obviously I am doing the racedeck install on Sat the 16th, so Im not good that weekend and Mark gets back in town on the 23rd, so I don't think we will make it that weekend either. Besides, isnt the 23rd the 2nd annual Corn Maze and dinner event?
I could do the following weekend. The first weekeend of November, but do you think that would be too late to see the colors? I have not seen the color changes in years. I grew up in Colorado Springs and used to love to watch the Aspens change. Wow, nostalgia setting in.
The route you propose is awesome! Hmmm?
See ya'll. Im leaving on a jet plane in about three hours to Texas, so you all have a great weekend.

Fall Colors-
"In and around the Flagstaff area, the San Francisco Peaks and Mount Elden, colors are prevalent. It is suggested that the leaves have changed by between 80 and 85 percent. Excellent places to view this display is Lockett Meadow, Hart Prairie, Snowbowl Road and any number of trails and forest roads leading into the aspen country. The coming weekend could possibly be "peak" in this area.
The road from Flagstaff to Clint's Well is nearing it's "peak" with scattered colors all along the way. However, the colors are not as "vibrant" this year as some years past.
At the north end of Oak Creek Canyon there are some leaves just beginning to change. The canyon should be beautiful in the next week to week-and-a-half."

I would like to go. The canyon is beautiful this time of year.

Well, Kameron was the one to have that put on the calendar. Since then he has dropped off the radar and is involved in his move to Chino Valley.
I have not heard of anyone showing any interest in it. If there is interest, we could throw something together. Or, we could just go look at the pretty colors.

Let's have a rollcall for the 23rd!
My suggestion would be up to Prescott Valley and over Mingus to Jerome and the back way into Sedona and then up through Oak Creek to Flagstaff and back down I-17. We did this last year and it was a kick. Some great mountain roads and some area to open them up and play if that's your thing. Meet at Cave Creek and Beardsley McDonald's at 8:30ish and leave by 9:00 am.
How about suggestions for lunch? We can easily make Sedona for lunch. I don't think they have a Hooter's yet!

I would go, but Mark is coming home that day, not expected until later in the afternoon. There is just no way for us to make it the 23rd. The 24th, (which I know is a Sunday) would work better.
If he surprises me and gets home on the 22nd, which is not likely, then heck yeah I would be in for sure. Take pics peeps.

As for the corn field thing. The one in the west valley closed down they told me. I did not hear back from the one in the east valley and then I did get caught up in the move up here to Chino Valley.
So I will not be able to get this one going.
As for the cruise, I would like to hook up with you all at the junction as well. Keith, when are you going there to the junction since we are neighbors now.

With consideration to the SE Valley folks the meet time has been moved to 8:30 and we'll be leaving at 9:00. That will get us to Cordes Junction for the meet there at 10:00.
Hope to see alot of you there!
