Default Houston/Galveston bike event

Last Saturday I went to the Lone Star Rally in Galveston. Saw hundreds of awesome bikes --all kinds but mostly Harley bikes with so many mods!! It was an all wkend event but one day was enough for me as I kinda didn't fit... forgot to wear my leather outfit!

(because I don't have a resize program here, I'm just posting this ones from my photbucket site and hope Troy doesn't slap me! )

Take a look at this awesome one w/a Viper engine! Dodge had these on display ...

Ofcourse, the beast was there too!

and so much more!!

It was September in South Texas nobody was wearing a leather outfit. You should have attended some of the parties and concerts around the island, then you would have wanted to stay longer,

Nobody? Have you not seen a crowd of Harley drivers? bandanas, tatooes, boots and leather vest! leather pants etc.. I wouldn't say all had leather but was either that or black t-shirts, all dark.

All day was long enough for a good walk, no hotels at all! all FULL!

Seen lots of them. If you look at your pictures I don't see anyone in "leather outfit" yes many riders wear black but again if you look in your pictures there are plenty wearing other than black.

Hotels were sold out early, very typical for any rally of that size, ROT in Austin is simiar. Nevertheless, if you want to see more that the RUB's go visit spots away from the main gathering, you will have much more fun

If you really want to have a good time get a motel now for Dawg's on Hawg's II in Lake Summerville the second weekend of November. You will see much less clothing there Rooms sell out quick for that one too.

Hmm, sound like fun but my hopes are one day to have my own bike. The prob w/me is that I like the speedy ones and not the Harley's where you seat back and raise your legs up and your arms are out there

One day right? Never say Never!

Try a HD Vrod, nobody said you had to have a Harley to attend. See lots of Honda mopeds running around the campground.

Just as you generalized about the people at the rally you are generalizing about the power output of Harley Davidson bikes.

I agree with you that stock H-Ds 88ci are no hot rods. However most folks do a little motor work and change that. I have a Deuce with 95 ci of discplacement, head work and a hotter and cam and it puts 105 HP and 103 Ft-lbs to the ground. And this is not a large motor as there are many out there with 124 ci. and higher displacement.

Granted the Deuce won't out run my triumph speed triple but you better hang on when you twist the wick.
