Default <DFW> Update on Stuarts Paint and Body

My original post is gone, so I will recap:

Stuarts performed a collision repair on my '99 C5 last December, which included front bumper, left headlight assembly, and left fender replacement. Paint work was first-class and I was very happy with their work.

Got backed over last month and had to go thru a similar repair here in Austin. When the shop disassembled the car, they found that Stuarts had left out the bumper retainers, and used a mishmash of fasteners to put the car back together. Worst case, my bumper would have stretched off of the mount points. It would have also made it difficult to sell the car had a prospective buyer examined the car with any detail.

The shop in Austin got everything back together the way it should have been, and it only cost me an additional $40 or so in misc parts.

The Update: Spoke with Doug at Stuarts. The tech that performed the repair is no longer employed (another related incident I was told), and he was very proactive about making this right. I was not looking for compensation, but he offered a free detail or similar service for my trouble.

Again, their paintwork was top-notch, and I would have them work on my car in the future.

Glad to hear it sounds like they are willing to take care of you. Also glad you got your baby back from this most recent one.

Ted, I have been waiting for your final reply to your earlier post. Especially since I am in the DFW area and am asked about referrals for body and paint work. Hope you enjoy the Austin area and hope your car is as strong as ever. Good Luck
