Corvettes and One Rare Beauty Aid the American Cancer Society at Cocomo Joe’s
3rd Annual Corvettes Against Cancer Benefit to Aid Prostate & Breast Cancer Research

(Phoenix, AZ) February 12, 2004 – On Sunday, April 4th corvette connoisseurs combat cancer at the 3rd annual Corvettes Against Cancer benefit at Cocomo Joe’s. Forget Nascar, from 9:00am to 5:00pm the Cocomo Joe’s parking lot will be a car-lovers menagerie with corvettes, live entertainment, dancing, a 50/50 raffle, food, drinks, an extremely rare vehicle, and numerous individuals aiding in the fight against cancer from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Don’t miss a rare opportunity to see a car that is 1 of 2 in the world. Carol Shelby has made 40 original AC Cobras to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the car. Of the 37 cars already accounted for there are 2 in the world that were finished with a polished aluminum body. Of those 2 aluminum cars, 1 is personally autographed, and that car is here! The owner has graciously agreed to display the car at this year’s 3rd annual Corvettes Against Cancer.
The event is open to the public with donations appreciated. If you want to show off your ‘Vette an application fee of $20.00 is charged of which 100% goes directly to the American Cancer Society. “It’s the best feeling to contribute to a cause like the American Cancer Society. Every bit helps and it’s nice to know that we are making a difference and helping researchers come one step closer to finding the cure,” says Joe Bria, chairperson and cancer survivor.
Beginning at 9:00 a.m. more than 200 corvettes will cruise the streets and return to the parking lot of Cocomo Joe’s at 11:30 a.m. just in time for two bands to take the stage. From noon to 1:30 p.m. the Wild Angels will perform followed by Tickle from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. - providing continuous live music for five hours. 50/50 raffle tickets may be purchased from scantly clad ladies for cold hard cash benefiting the American Cancer Society and one lucky winner. Half of all money collected from purchased raffle tickets will be donated to the American Cancer Society and the other half to the lucky winner. Large tents will be pitched to shade all in attendance so that they may enjoy their day of ‘Vettes, dancing, drinks, and aiding in the fight to cure cancer.

Cocomo Joe’s: Located at 28244 N. Tatum Blvd. Call (480) 538-8008.
