Default [Phx] Corvette Saturday at my place - for those who may want to watch a C3 explode !!

Hey all,

I will host a Corvette Saturday at my place this Saturday. Plan for a 9 a.m. start time. I have plenty of work for a few extra hands. I hope to get the car started (first time since June) and may even get it off the ramps.
I plan on a full day of work, and will have lunch available for those that want to help out.

If you have questions, or need directions, drop me an e-mail or call me at 480-220-2484.

Hello, have you guys ever done the gage faces install??? Just curious on how long it takes. Removing the console and dropping the dashboard? Just got a bunch of "crap" from LAPD and wanted to plan my weekend....

Thanks,
JJ :D

I'm going to try to make it by at some point. My tranny has been leaking since it was serviced last month, so I have to get it back to the transmission shop at Bell and like 80th Ave. before the 30 day no questions asked period is up. Saturday is the only day I can do it. The gasket they installed is NOT working too well. I have a growing slick on the floor of my garage. After that, I should be free. I'm not going to the Pavilions because I don't want to show the Vette with it's new dull rims.

Hey JIJ  Here is a link for your gage face install. It's really for installing gauge bezels but you'll have to do the same thing. Follow the instructions and you shouldn't have any trouble.

Believe it or not it will only take you about an hour to pull it out and about 30 minutes to reinstall it and that's if you go real slow. :D :D

Yeah, it runs !!

Fired up and ran on the very first try. It ran a little "fast" because I left the EGR plate off. GM blocks the EGR crossover from the heads, but I forgot the opening to the base of the carb was open. SO, it was a big sucking wound pulling fresh air in. We still had 20lbs vacuum, as the fuel injection system just dumped more fuel in to compensate. No vacuum leak, but a 2500 RPM idle. Once this was capped, the engine idled at a nice 850-900 RPM, until we started running low on gas.
I put 5 more gallons in it Sunday morning and fired it up on its 3rd rotation of the crank. It starts and runs each and every time.

Dan Wilson came over on Sunday and we got both gage panels back in, including the ever popular speedo cable hook-up in the dash.

Just need a couple missing screws and the interior will be buttoned up.

Next week I am going to Chad's place to help him on his interior install. I hope to drive it up there. Only thing it needs now is a drivers seat, some rear speaker mounts (cough cough CHAD NEED YOUR HELP cough cough) and some testing and tuning to be a true daily driver.

p.s. Since I am working the radiology department at Yuma regional hospital this week, I am going to have them x-ray the second finger on my right hand. I am pretty sure that the reverberation of the hammer hitting that Allen wrench busted the small bone in the tip of my finger. :cry . It's been hurting like a mother---- ever since Saturday.
