The fellow who came down last weekend to see the Camaro, ended up buying the C5. While I knew I would lose a good bit selling that car, I was concerned that it would lose significant additional value once the C6 came out. Money transfers Monday, Intercity Lines are going to ship it to him in a couple of weeks.
The Camaro auction timed out without a sale. The guy who bought the C5 was high bidder and revoked his bid after deciding on the C5. Only trouble was that there wasn't sufficient time to rebuild and for some people, the car was out of range for them pricewise and they had stopped tracking it. The ebay page for my car got 11000 hits so people WERE watching it.
Congrats, Doug. I imagine there is a bit of mixed feelings as well....always sad to see a "loved one" go. But now you can begin to focus your energy on that C5 vert project.....will be interesting I am sure. Good luck on the Camaro sale.
I have a hot lead on the Camaro too. Guy from Denver. We have gotten to what I think is "the price." He said he is going to sleep on it and get back to me in the morning.
Well one thing I am considering doing is getting a really low cost carloan and getting this investment car. Grandsport Coupe with 14 miles on it. Needless to say, this sweetheart of a car would be unloaded from the trailer and backed into the garage and put in a bubble. The car still has the original plastic seat covers from the factory. What a coup it would be to get that GS! :D Dana is cool with me getting this car. What a good wife she is going to be! :D
The good thing about this car is I couldn't mod it so will save lots of mod money until later in the Spring when, hopefully, I can begin my project car.
Have to sort out some things with my job before starting something like that.
Let's have the guy from Denver call me to buy the Camaro today. :D

Doug...what a bittersweet moment. Such an amazing car and so much of your blood, sweat, and tears put into it. However, in the end, its nothing more than nuts and bolts. It will, however, always be the Snowmobile, and will live on in the hands of another. I cant wait to see the next creation to come out of your crazy mind
Thanks you guys for the best wishes. Mike, it wasn't anything I did really. I had my 69 Camaro on eBay and he came to see that car and liked this one.
The fun thing is I get to start over now. I sent a shopping list to Nate at the CorvetteGarage so he can start assembling the mods I want to put on the new vert to start. I will probably have to wait a year to do the euro body kit on that car so will do headers, exhaust, maybe some of those new CCW 19's, just to keep me sane until I can get into the motor and do the body kit.
I don't know if some of you have seen what I want to build:
The widebody kit is truly awesome. If you are for sure doing it, I would hold off on the CCWs for the time being. John can make a 19x13 or 19x14 setup that would fit it perfectly, but might look kind of strange on a stock car  :p:
