Thunder vette set and Lawley Cheverolet will be hosting a Corvette car display in celebration of Corvettes 50th Anniversary on the 28th of June at Lawley Cheverolet in Sierra Vista, AZ. All Corvette owners are welcome to come and partake.
This is not a sanctioned event, just good fun and conversation with other enthusiasts.

I'm pretty booked up this summer. getting my daughter into NAU, and family vacations...This sounds like a cool road trip, but I won't be able to make it.
Be sure to post some pictures here for us to see.....
It's been getting in the mid 80's, no promises though. It don't get near as hot as up north (where you are at). Thought I was gonna die of a heat stroke in Casa Grande, had to come down south to cool down.
Come on down and see the vettes, to bad you are not bringing yours. Is it in pieces? I have the new Power Effects Exhaust system coming tomorrow and Tuesday, It's going on wendsday! Have An engine for the 74, but don't want to rip it apart till all this summer activity is over, take my time and redo the engine bay and all.

Re: (AZ) 50th Anniversary car display (ICULUKN-C5)
My wife and some of her friends are going down to Nogales the same day. I will probably cruise down at the same time and go to Sierra Vista, and then hook up with the wife on the way back. I wanna stop and see a friend in Tucson on the way back as well, so I don't know if I would be a good cruising partner.
I will be in the Toyota as the C3 is getting fuel injection installed during these warm summer days. It won't be ready for months.
Hey TUCSON group -- anyone going down to Sierra Vista ???
Hope all can come down. BSEERY you can check out the 74 and two years of work. Still have engine and transmission to do (I work backwards (lol). A 327 and a 700R4 conversion, might just do frame off.
the work starts again after this event. Been doing all the work on the 96 latley, getting it ready for a cruise to South Dakota.
I Think I'm planning on going this weekend to see friends in Sierra Vista and have the new AC Compressor put on one of my trucks....maybe the wife will drive the vette down too...have to check out the possibilities...just waitin' for a couple of parts from Ecklers. :chevy
p.s. I used to be a member of the Thunder Vette Set years ago......When Dan was Pres.
Hope you can make it down. You came down for the rally last year didnt you? Name sounds so familiar. This is only my third year in the club. I will send you email with my cell number, let me know to add you or not.
 to a TRUE Corvette enthusiast! I :flag you! BSEERY drove three hours in the hot desert sun just to look at Corvettes. I thank you and the Thunder Vette Set thanks you for coming down and seeing our cars and for the great conversation! Hope to see you soon at another event keep me posted and I will try and gather up some Vettes to come your way!

Re: (AZ) 50th Anniversary car display (wamp)
Just got home -- after a stop in Tucson to see a friend and a gas stop in Casa Grande, I am home.
Just so people know why I didn't take my Corvette, there were two reasons.
#1 was the fact that the top end of the motor is off in preparation for a fuel injection install.

Re: (AZ) 50th Anniversary car display (wamp)
oh -- and I forgot.
Something that my mind was cooking up on the way home......
October 25th or November 1st --- Tombstone Corvette show.
I need to get a hold of someone in the town of Tombstone to see what it would take to let us park the cars on the main street (normally blocked off to vehicle traffic) and to do a Corvette show. I think we could get people from Phoenix, Tucson, and of course Sierra Vista to show up for that event.
Say maybe - 50-75 cars ???
What do you all think ?? Ask around with the southern crowd and let me know what you all think. If someone knows anyone important at Tombstone, let me know.
I can get you a Point of Contact for Tombstone, We have had the street closed down for us one before. If memory serves me right it was the Chamber of Commerce that we contacted (someone will have the name in our club). Not bringing the car was not a big deal, I had a good time BSing with you, everyone thought it was real neat that you took your time to come down and see our Vettes. Thanks again!!
