PARADE UPDATE - RESCHEDULED FOR SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 29 - Due to the strong chance of Thunderstorms this Saturday, the Lawton Christmas Parade has been moved to Saturday, December 29. The times and locations will remain the same as they were. Let me know if that changes your involvement or not.
The SWOCC is officially registered as a parade entrant for the Lawton Christmas Parade on Saturday, November 29. The parade starts at 6:15 p.m. and runs from Central Mall, down 2nd Street, and finally through Elmer Thomas Park. Everyone needs to arrive at the mall by 5:00 p.m. Anyone wanting to caravan to the mall from west Lawton can join me at Jim Glover Chevrolet for departure at 4:30 p.m. Feel free to decorate your car and to bring candy to hand out to kids along the parade route. After the parade, let's grab dinner together. We'll decide where we want to eat once we are all lined up for the parade. Let me know if you plan to participate. Thanks!

LAWTON CHRISTMAS PARADE - SOME FINAL DETAILS
1) If you plan to join our caravan to the mall, be sure to arrive at Jim Glover Chevrolet (82nd and Cache Road) before 4:30 p.m. We will depart from there at 4:30 p.m. sharp. In order to keep the caravan together and not have to deal with as many traffic lights, we will head north on 82nd Street, then east on Hwy 62/Rogers Lane, south on I-44, then west on Lee, and finally north on 2nd Street straight to the mall.
2) If you plan to meet us at the mall, be there at 5:00 p.m.
3) We are entry #32 in the parade and will line up in that position. I would also like for us to line up by year, oldest at the front, newest at the rear.
4) The parade begins at 6:15 p.m., so you will have time to decorate your car once we line up at the mall.
5) One parade rule is that there are to be NO SANTAs. They aren't anti-Santa...the one and only Santa will be on a float at the end of the parade.
6) The other parade rule that will be strictly enforced is that there is to be no candy thrown from the cars. Anyone throwing candy will be escorted out of the parade. HOWEVER, they are okay with someone walking along with the cars and handing out candy to kids in the crowd. They just want to prevent kids getting hit with projectile candies.
7) I plan on heading somewhere for dinner after the parade. Everyone wanting to do this can help make the decision about where we will go.
Let me know if you have any questions. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

The SWOCC had 14 Corvettes in the Lawton Christmas Parade tonight! At least one from C2 through C7. The crowd loved seeing all of our Corvettes!

Will try to make that one if I can. Leaving the next day for bike week in Daytona so it maybe a rush but should be doable. I have two Vettes - a 72 that I have had since 88 and before buying it back in 88 I owned it from 74-75 and a 77 that I bought new with 10,000 miles on it now, a 57 chevy and a 70 SS 396.
Currently putting a heater core in the 72 and building the 57 while keeping it a driver. It has a 350 4sp with 92,000 miles. Hope to see you there.
