SWOCC Venison Cookout - Saturday, April 5, 4:00 p.m.
Alan Shetter and his wife Robin have graciously invited us to their home just outside of Cache, Oklahoma, for a venison cookout that will take place this Saturday, April 5, starting at 4:00 p.m. He even bought a brand new grill and is ready to fire it up!
Everyone needs to bring a side dish to share (anything from chips to beans to dessert...your choice), your beverage of choice, a lawn chair/folding chair, and anything else you think you may need.
If you plan to attend, please reply in some format by no later than Friday evening with the following information: how many will be in your party and what side you plan to bring.
Alan said we can park our Corvettes out front. Be sure to bring your cameras for the photo op!
The Shetter's address is 13 Wildflower Circle, Cache, OK 73527.

POKER RUN - THIS SATURDAY, APRIL 5, 8:30 AM
As part of the national Lead2Feed competition, Eisenhower High School freshmen are hosting a poker run this Saturday, April 5, with registration taking place at the high school starting at 8:30 a.m. The proceeds will go to benefit the Robert E. Greiner School for the Handicapped.
The poker run is open to motorcycles, cars, pickups and all other street-legal vehicles with licensed drivers. The cost is $15 per driver player and $10 for every additional player per vehicle. The winning hand will receive $500 (or an even split of $500 in the event of a tie).
The poker run will start at EHS with stops at the following locations:
- Billingsley Hyundai on 82nd and Quanah Parker
- Ann's Country Gift Shop north of Lake Lawtonka
- Alon Hop and Sack in Apache
- Shamrock Station in Elgin
- Pumpkin Center at Hwy 7 and Hwy 65
- Wind River Harley Davidson (last stop)
I'm not sure if I can be there, but thought some may want to participate.

Rock-N-Rumble Car Show and Cruise, Saturday, May 3, Altus, OK
Alan Shetter has been doing some work on this one for us and needs to know who may be planning to participate in this event. Alan is working with a bank on Main Street that is willing to set aside an area just for our Corvettes! Here's what Alan needs to know by Tuesday, April 22:
- Who plans to attend just to be there and hang out and have fun
- Who plans to participate in the cruise on Saturday night
- Who plans to participate in the car show on Saturday morning/afternoon
If five or more of us attend, we will receive group discounts on the cruise and car show entry fees! Post a reply by Tuesday, April 22. Thanks!
