How about a MILLION CORVETTE MARCH?
As much as I'd love to, I couldn't make the trip at this time to Las Vegas, Phoenix, Tulsa...
The trip to San Antonio or Austin would be great. What if each state held a show/cruise/scavenger hunt/fund raiser or whatever, all on the same day. Whoever has the biggest turnout or raises the most money has the bragging rights as being the best of the best. This way, each state could do their own thing and it wouldn't be a strain on anybody.
I own an industrial engraving shop in Houston and would be happy to help with dash plaques, awards, fund raiser items or whatever. NOTE - Before anybody jumps on me, I am not looking to profit from this - I'm only offering to help furnish items for the cost of my materials. We donate our services to several worthy events every year in this way.

Have a photoshoot day where forum members could select from a few variations of Fikse wheels and different tires in a few different sizes 18/19, 19/20”s etc (something everyone seems to want to see how their car would look with before they buy) & put a set on their own car for the shoot – maybe even have a few sets with some good tires for burnouts and donuts for those that dare! Obviously this event would include great food and drinks … holding it at a local track would be a bonus for a hot lap or two.

You could setup a large car show with one of the many casinos as they usually have plenty of parking lot available and hotels. plus they are usually more than happy to sponsor the event plus food and giveaways. Pick a casino near a track of some sorts and you could do a 2 day event: show and race. I've been in car clubs before that even managed to get everything paid for including food and your fuel to drive to and from the event no matter where in the country you were coming from.

I'd love a "tune and wrench" sort of gathering in East/Northeast Texas for us driving C3s and other older Vettes (too slow to race, not pretty enough to win a show trophy). I'm still learning, and to mine the collective knowledge of others would be very beneficial.

I belong to a couple of motorsports clubs (Harley and Off-roading), and have been to and been involved with organizing events, such as trips and group gatherings.
I've noticed that the same types of enthusiast events are organized for the differing groups, only they revolve around the vehicles specific to the fans of those groups (which makes sense, obviously). My off-road group has an annual national "Summit" where people travel from around the U.S. and Canada to attend a five-day event of off-roading in the mountains of Colorado. My Harley group goes just about everywhere in the U.S., but naturally the largest gathering is in Sturgis, South Dakota every year.
Both of the examples above focus on seeing the surrounding countryside via your chosen vehicle. That should be, in my opinion, the focus of a "Corvette Summit" as well. I enjoy driving down beautiful byways and seeing new places, as I'm sure others do as well. One can always drive, park, and gab and gaze at a "compound" type of rally, but that's only one facet of owning a Corvette, and a smaller one in my opinion.
All that said (if you're still reading, that is ), is I propose regional "summits" throughout the pleasant months of the year. Chosen bases would be central to areas where aforementioned pleasant roads and scenery can be had, along with availability of accommodations and evening activities after the day's driving.
The events could comprise of a four-day event to a weekend getaway, and very loosely organized. Pick a central hotel or landmark for meeting each day, hook up with a small group, then hit the road and enjoy. Designate an evening meetup location for dinner and beverages after each day is done, and swap stories/photos. Do it all again the next day, but choose another route (maybe someone you talk to after the first day turned you on to the route they just drove that day).
The only real effort would be for someone to put together some suggested scenic routes for that region, so folks not from that region have something to start with. Ghost towns, monuments, unique attractions for that region included in the routes. All it would take is for someone in the host region to step up and volunteer an evening of scouting some routes on the map and highlighting them. Then print up a packet or provide Garmin routes for those with GPS's.

Split the region!
The Southwest region has always been about TEXAS! How about making Texas / Oklahoma its own region and making Arizona, New Mexico and Nevada its own region. Dallas, Houston or Austin are all between 1000 and 1200 miles away! How can we in the desert participate in any events in Texas??? We have multiple track venues and scenic drives for all kinds of events. Need a coordinator? I'll do it!

Carlisle
I suggest a Carlisle style event based in Central Texas with Texas vendors (out of state vendors welcome, too). Incorporate a cars for sale, parts swap meet, vendor booths, shine and show and the previously suggested BBQ Run and Corvette Power Tour of Texas.
Different clubs could sponsor or coordinate the different parts of the event.

Organize a Corvette run to the Veteran's Memorial in Angel Fire, New Mexico for the morning ceremonies. Honor the vets, have a beautiful drive in the high mountains of New Mexico, and enjoy the scenery.

Just hold them all region wide on the same day...

Just my two cents...

I was going to mention a Corvette related group meeting up at Cars and Coffee. The other might be a show and shine / track Rental. In Houston you can rent Lone Star or HRP. A track rental when it looks likre we're headed to some "minshaft air" might drag a few folks out...

School Involvement
What about small series of localized events held at different high schools involving the high schools auto tech students. Getting a younger generation excited about classic and modern American made cars and products. I'm in vegas so something like this would be great as we have a lot of options. We could incorporate a cruise through the strip, red rock canyon, or down to Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Line up all Corvettes in the SW region on a stretch of I-10. Simultaneous burnout and launch which will affect the speed of the rotation of the Earth.
Do you guys want longer or shorter days? Here's our chance to make it happen!

I'm sure most folks know about the Vettes & Jets on the Lexington in Corpus with about 300 + Vettes. Why not cooridinate something with them and have vettes lining the ship and the ground area around the Lexington. We had a blast at the last one and raised a good bit of monies for wounded warriors...

I didn't see anything for the Upper Midwest region, so I will just drop my ideas here. I would like to see something in the mid to late spring in the Midwest like a show or a cruise, to get the dust blown off our Vettes up here after the Winter. Maybe have it in a more Central Location in IA Des Moines?
