Houston area clear shield installer?
A friend of mine just bought a new truck and he is considering clear shield. Do y'all know of any good installers? Preferably on the SW side.

Call Mingo at Sun Cap Auto Tint. Phenomenal work and very reasonably priced. He has Nano Fusion. Great stuff. Aside from paint protection, he's probably one of the few who also does phenomenal work on the rear window even with ceramic film. http://suncapautotint.com/paint_protection
EDIT: Side note, he also tinted my tail lights, side markers, and fog lights.

This is good info in case I need more work myself, since he's in Spring.

I've been hearing great things about SunCap for years. I now have an appointment for next Friday for my 427. After reading this thread I think I'll have to add blacking out my tail/side lights too.

I had my front end (including beneath the emblem), bottom 1/3 or so of hood, mirrors, and spots adjacent to all the wheel wells covered, plus had my windows tinted with ceramic tint, and tail lights/side markers blacked out for around $1k.
My 427 is a daily driver with 6,000 miles on it now, and it has definitely been worth the cost already.

Mingo at SunCap is the best!
He did my clear film (Nano Fusion), window tint and tinted lenses (side markers, fog and tail lenses). Very reasonable.

Did you do the entire hood or half hood? my car is black as well and curious about line versus doing entire hood and fenders?

Not the entire hood because at the time the Nano Fusion wasn't available in a large enough sheet, but now it's available. The line is not noticeable unless the car is dirty or you are right up on it. But mine isn't a show car so I really don't care if it's visible or not. Depending on what part of town you're in, you are welcome to take a look at it before you get it done.

On a black car I would do the entire hood. Black is so difficult to maintain... and the new films like Xpel Ultimate and Suntek have self healing topcoas... so no need to worry about swirl marks.

Here's a picture of the car with the 3M film. Can you see the line?
This is what's covered on the car (even today) with red marks showing where it was getting hit the most by rocks and debris:
