I remember the first time I traveled with a local DFW group and three trucks towing trailers full of corvettes passed me like I was standing still - I was in the upper 70's myself......

Tweety will be in the caravan on the trailer (boring but not so hard to clean on arrival)! We are also bringing our friends from California with their car "Scarlett" - guess what color she is?!

VETTES AND JETS ON THE LEX CARAVAN
(headed to Corpus Christi, Texas)

Back in 2007, a caravan of corvettes started in Florida and made it’s way thru Mississippi, Georgia, Louisiana picking up corvettes along the way. When the caravan made it to Houston, several of us joined them and we all headed to Corpus Christi, Texas for Vettes and Jets on the Lex event. In 2009, we did the same thing and though it was pouring rain, we still managed to pull away from the Houston area with approx. 43 corvettes. Awesome sight to see!
We are inviting ALL corvettes to join us in a Caravan headed to Corpus Christi on Friday, September 9th, 2011 at 10am. If our out-of-town guests can arrange their schedules to perhaps be at our meeting place on Friday morning, we would love for you to join us as we drive the 2.5 hours into Corpus Christi and join the hundreds of other corvettes at the U.S.S. Lexington. NO RSVP NEEDED, JUST SHOW UP!

The times are listed on this thread. I am coming from North Houston myself. Perhaps if I knew your approx. time of reaching the North part of Houston, perhaps we can lead you into the Southwest Frwy (US59).

thanks for the information. I must have missed your departure time the first time through. I am not sure of our route, but it looks like we will be about 30 minutes behind you in Victoria if we leave on time 8:30 AM. Lunch along the way will probably push us back another hour. Most likely will just see you there Friday afternoon. Will get with Eran and maybe make the run back to Houston with you guys to visit our parents. It is only an hour further time wise.

All clubs included and even those that are not in a Club.
No, this is not a particular Club. This caravan is open to ALL corvettes whether you are in a club or not. We are just several corvettes old and new getting together to caravan to Corpus Christi. Again, we would love for the Floridians to join us. Feel free to call if you have questions even if it's during your meeting.

We are all with the SUNSET Vettes Club in Fort Walton Beach. We do a lot of events with the Miracle Strip Club. Look forward to meeting you all in Texas. The group is getting together today to go over the final plan. Hope to meet up on the road that Friday.

Mapquest has us taking 770A off of 10W on to 59S and then TX-91 tp US-77. We plan to leave Lake Charles at 7:00 so we should be in Huston about 10:00 and will call you. Is the number listed a cell number?

We just stayed in Fort Walton last month. Spent a long weekend over there and kept seeing vettes driving around all over the place. Beautiful area. How many vettes are traveling with you? Can't wait to meet all of you!

Mid Coast Corvette Club will join the caravan on US-59 in Wharton. We will be leaving sparkling downtown Sweeny, Texas at 9:00 AM to enjoy some backroad driving along FM-1301 which will put us in Wharton around 10ish AM at Bucees US-59. You can call me on my cell phone at 979-482-3937 when you are getting close to us in order for us to line up along US-59 to merge with the caravan.
