Default *OFFICIAL HOUSTON CORVETTE CRUISE* thread

*UPDATED*

I'm starting to get Spring Fever, and want to take the car out on a beautiful day. Therefore, I have taken it upon my self to organize the next Houston Cruise. If you are interested in being a part of a fun filled morning and early afternoon, please post how many cars and people each member is bringing.

Once a route is decided on, I will look into restaurants in the area that can provide for our parking for a large number of cars, and can accommodate a large party.

March 5th, 2011 Provided that the weather is clear. Rain date is March 12th!

I. Outline:

- Cruise the given route with 1 or 2 pit stops along the way. The run will take us up to Montgomery and then east to Cleveland. Return down 59 south to Kingwood for a meal.

II. Route: (Please Print)
-The Rally point will be at the Woodlands Mall parking lot, closest to the freeway @ 10am. Be ready to Roll Out @ 10:30. Click for Location

-For those traveling from the south side of Houston (myself included), I was thinking we could meet at University of Houston at 8:45am and ride as a pack to the woodlands.FOUND HERE: CLICK

- 45 NORTH to 105 WEST
- 105 WEST to 149 NORTH.
- Turn RIGHT onto 149 NORTH.
- Turn RIGHT onto 1375 EAST.
- Turn LEFT onto 75 NORTH *only go 1 block to 150 EAST!
- Turn RIGHT onto 150 EAST.
- Turn RIGHT onto 1725.
- Turn LEFT onto 105 EAST.
- Turn RIGHT onto 59 SOUTH.
- Exit Kingwood Drive.

*ATTENTION* This route is not definite and may be changed or altered.
Here is a Rough Idea of the Route: Click Here for Route!

III. Cruise Speeds and Safety:

- This will be a spirited cruise. Please be safe at all times. Do not drive outside of your ability. In open lite traffic areas speeds may increase. Please be advised.

- Set belts.
- Control your passengers.
- Use signals.
- Do not tailgate.
- Do not drive outside of your ability.
- No racing.
- Have fun.

III. Gear:

- 2 way walkie.
- Full tank of fuel.
- GPS.
- Dress comfortable.
- Sunglasses.
- Lunch $.
- Camera.
- Hot female navigator.
- Your skills.

Forest may be fun, but its far for me. Galevston is too much traffic and roads suck for driving. Austin seems kinda far for a day trip. I know there are many people out here in Ft Bend county that want to cruise the twisties out here. There are some nice roads toward Tomball/Magnolia/ Woodlands also.

pending? damn.....

lets go! post a date and time, hopefully with some nice twisty backroads....

i know a few routes in the national forest, that is where i have taken a few cruises...

been the galveston route too...

there are some nice roads between I-10 and austin too.....

just wanted to make sure this would not be a group going 20mph the whole time... i do like to accelerate every now and then...

and should have a new Go-Pro camera here this week....

edit: after looking at it, that would be well over 200 miles to and from my place....im going to look into organizing one over on our side of town also for people taht may not want to go all the way up to the Forest.

Here is a route I came up with: (Starting and Stopping at Texas Tradition in Fulshear for lunch)

your route looks good as well. Its a long drive for me also, coming from clearlake/friendswood area. You would be doing a little extra driving to and from, but so would half of us. One large cruise, in lenght and size, is always worth it

How About the 26th or 27th? That gives a little time to get more people together. And gives enough time for people to try and schedule off work.
