Default From the Texas Mile

Did any of you all see the AMS Mitsubishi EVO that blew the motor going through the trap at the end of the mile. I went & took a look at it after it got towed back to the pits. The block had a hole in it from what I assumed to be a broken rod. Pretty impressive for a 4 banger to run 228. Congratulations to Mr Eric Jones...

Here is his ride down the track. He appeared to keep his cool throughout the run.

Yeah, the 4 banger mentality came from running steel bodied N/A VW's into the low 11's in the 1970's. Back then there was no such thing as an EVO. Mainly 2 stroke Honda Civics, Datsuns and Toyotas, don't recall I ever even saw a Mitsubishi back then. Where were you in 72?

Saw it, was right around the mile marker (on the pit side) when it happened. Scary stuff for sure!
