You are correct, Ennis is a 1/4 Mile Concrete strip but the shutdown area is asphalt so this does make Dallas Raceway the ONLY ALL CONCRETE 1/4 mile track.
And difference between asphalt and concrete for street cars not as noticable as for the full race cars. Think about what asphalt is made of TAR (OIL) and Rocks. Have you ever seen a blacktop road that has ruts in it and they always have to repave them every 5 yrs or so. That is because in HOT weather say for instance hmmmm TEXAS the TAR remelts and releases oil to the surface and too much weight will actually shift the asphalt causing those ruts in the road. Same thing goes for when you have a 1/8 or 1/4 mile drag strip made of TAR and Rocks. If you have noticed Every track around the area has been repaved to be atleast a all concrete Racing surface but too expensive for most to have a concrete shutdown area as well.
