Default Air Filter gets no love

After talking with some Vette gys in my area of Fort Hood. I decided to stop by my dealer Connel Chevy in Killeen where i get services done. I find out that if my car has a K&N Air Filter or any other type they will not even work on it. Also if I alter the exhaust with another other than stock it will void my extended Warranty. Does anyone know any Vette Mod friendly dealers in our area. I will go as far as Austin or Waco....Thanks

Before anyone starts bashings K&N or oil gauze filters in general or promoting oem paper filters only, you as a consumer should understand your rights.

Your dealership (and your) might read this federal act pertaining to warranties...
http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/.../warranty.shtm

You might also contact K&N FILTERS as they've been down this road many times and will assist you...

Good info!
I don't think there's any bashing here, just looking for a dealer that won't give you the "blanket refusal" of warranty work because of an unrelated mod. If I get a bad tune and melt a piston from a lean burn situation, I don't put the PCM back to stock and expect a new engine from GM(related). At the same time, if I put in a K&N filter and my #6 coil goes bad, I expect the dealer to cover it under warranty(unrelated). We are all ultimately responsible for the mods WE choose to do and the side effects caused by them. We're just looking for a dealer that will use a little common sense when it comes to mods and related/unrelated warranty work.

Tomorrow is going to be a NICE day. Get up early and cruise up to Waco, Temple, or go south to Burnet. I'm sure one of those places should have a laid back service dept.

It all depends on the dealership. Here in Dallas I know of at least 4-5 dealers that are cool with Mods. But that's just because Vettes are the big sellers behind trucks

Read the fine print, folks! It's an extended warranty. Didn't any of you notice the photo of the C5?

Doesn't have anything to do with the dealer, and everything to do with the warranty company. Anyone who's had an extended warranty claim denied will know what I mean...

So...to the OP, I say: "Good luck. You'll need it!"
