it was actually a great turnout with some past and new faces. Good job Helga setting it up. There was a small scheduling hiccup at the glass cactus and we couldn't get in until after 9pm, but that really worked out anyways as we got a chance to go over to main complex and check out the other bar....then got to go back to the glass cactus and receive a free round of drinks "for our trouble". I'll take that scenario everytime.

Default our adventure at the *******

Even though we didn't get to see the sunset I believe we all had a great time. We were disappointed Joanne and Dennis had to leave early, Dennis went straight to work from the *******. No wonder Dennis drank ice tea
John, I didn't know what a great dancer you are! If anyone needs a dance partner Kelly and John are the ones to look for! We all enjoyed our free drink at the Glass Cactus, I defiantly will order a chocolate martini the next time I'll go, that will be tonight, Ladies Night
I believe we can give "Paul" the best dressed award nice seeing you again.
Thanks Karen for sharing the chocolate martini.
See you all next week

Here's Elio asking, "Helga is this the way to see the sunset"?

Here's the group having fun!

Bill and Joanne auditioning for a Kodak commercial.

Here's Ellie with the boys.

Elio saying "I normally don't drink PINK drinks...But for you Paul I will make the exception".

Hey now that we have the drinks, Where are the girls?

Buds for LIFE ! (OOPS! Sorry, I mean Coors for life .)

Hey Rob! You are totally welcome to join us, and it'd be great to see you again. You were one of the first Vette peeps I met a year ago when I started going to GTGs, I think my first one was at Sargent's and you were the first person I met there.

Great pics Helga! ... I think I'm still sweating out that last Coors in my hand there. Now I know how many beers it takes before I start looking like crap in photographs.

Soooo, same next week? Or back to LAB?

Hey ROB, how've you been ? .....I see you've added a few mods since I last saw you a couple of years ago in Arlington.

FWIW - I'm out of my 'lime green' phase and now have a Black Z06

HI all ! It was a great time as always... But I forgot to charge up the battery on my camera so itwas good for only three pics. I'll just have to take even more pics at the next GTG to make up for this one.

This first pic shows off a nice line up.

Here's part of the gang just hanging out before we headed into the bar.

This pic shows off part of the entrance to the Gay Lord. If you have never been there... You realy should go it's a great place to just go and hang out, but take a camera ( with a good battery ). There are a lot of places to take some good pics.

Thanks Helga for setting it up. And thanks to all who came!

Default Great Job Helga!

Once again let me thank you Helga for the super job you did.

So how does everyone feel about us setting up sort of a month or two worth of Tuesday GTGs? We can set them up in advance and this way we will get advance notice to plan on making some of them and maybe pass on others. This will also allow us time to think of new places to attend.

I hope ya'll don't mind me doing this but I figure it might let us plan some big events. I will just throw out some suggestions based on input I have recieved from Elio, Helga, Paul W, etc.

1. Enriques Mexican Food Restaurant in Bartonville (14 Aug 07) Rob (The Candyman) has a connection out there and can get us reserved parking.
2. Hard 8 BBQ in Coppell (21 Aug 07) Jim or myself can call and see about reserving parking.
3. BJs (beside Twin Peaks) in Lewisville (28 Aug 07) Helga recommended this place so it has to be good!!
4. Glass Cactus in Grapevine (3 Sep 07) I think we need to go back here and see that sunset Helga was talking about. From what I hear, the drinks were incredible.
5.
6.
7.
8.

These are just a few places that have been mentioned in the past. They are not set in stone and we can change them to anything that you all want. Please make any suggestions and changes that you all think we should make.

Looks like we had to start a new thread because others felt offended by us adding new locations. Well, since I am the thread starter on this one. Feel free to add away!! You won't ruffle my feathers. Shoot, this way I don't have to think of new places to attend. On that note,
Helga has come up with a place for us to attend this week.

Time: 7:00pm until closing or we get booted.
Date: 07 Aug 07
Location: Glass Cactus (******* in Grapevine)

Parking will be free upon validation. Contact Helga for assistance in getting this taken care of.

Beer and mixed drinks are $4.00/each. I owe you a Guinness Clete.

* There is a $10.00 cover after 9:00.

Notes of interest: Helga has stated that the sunsets are incredible overlooking the lake.

Please be thinking of some more places we could attend. This weekend we (Me, Joanne,Elio, Karen, and Helga) went to Esparzas in Grapevine. It was alot of fun. Later that night we (Me, Joanne, Helga, and Gene) went to Sneaky Pete's and sat on the patio. The water is high as Paul W. stated. If you get there late or get there early, you can get a pretty good lakeside seat. I'm going to talk to the mgt. and see if I can swing it for them to do something special for us.

PS: Remind me to give you all of the details about the opening of ECR.

Note: For current information please check the last post.
Hey Dennis, do you think we should change the Info on the first page to this weeks GTG info... That way no one will look at the first page and go to the wrong place.

Default Trip To N/W Texas After ******* Party

I enjoyed the GTG at the ******* and all the dancing with Helga. Helga, thanks for getting the party together for all of us. We all had a good time without the sunset. Who needs a sunset? The car pictures look great.

Monique, myself, and Muffin enjoyed the 3 1/2 day, 1,420 mile cruise to the N/W Texas area (Lubbock and back road areas). This area will not compete with the Hill Country but has some similarities. It was hot, 103 degrees and it pushed the Vette A/C. The grasshoppers, some very large, ruled the roads, these guys will challenge any mouse.

Again, Helga, thanks for the great dancing.

I would hope that the big bold blue letters might be enough but I will edit it anyway.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I just got off the phone with Rob and he said everything was set up for Tuesday night. He said they were excited about us coming as well. I will get a map posted as soon as I get home and can host the pic.

I agree. Let me see if I can get it added as a sticky. It would make it more accessible to everyone.

Hey Jim,

Thanks for offering the use of the cones. Rob said that we wouldn't need them though because the rest of the places close at 5/6 pm so we will have the place all to ourselves. Now this should make for some interesting pictures.

Default Map to Enriques Mexican Food Restaurant

Here is the map to Enriques. Directions are as follows:
1. Take FM407 west until you reach Bartonville, TX.
2. Take a right at the intersection and go north for approx. .5-1.5 miles.
3. Enriques will be on the left hand side in a shopping center. I'm not sure of the name of the shopping center.

Note: If you pass the 2 huge bronze horse statues going north, you have gone too far. If you are coming from the North, then you will pass the horses and look to your right about .5-1.5 miles.
