Default Auto & HomeOwners Ins. in DFW

Just happened to look at my renewal from Allstate since the boss takes care of the insurance on both the cars and the house. Seems as if Allstate is raping us on auto insurance. 06 Cad CTS and 04 Vette CE over 50 no accidents, no tickets and I have to take Defensive Driving every two years because of my job. Total on both cars for six months is $1129.00. We've been with Allstate for 9yrs no claims. I need to shop around for better rates. Want get Homeowners with the same company I switch to because of the discounts. Can you guys recommend an agent or a company? Thanx in advance.

I switched to Allstate when I bought my house and my rate droped. I'm paying less for car insurance on the 2004 Corvette than I was on the 2000 Monte Carlo (only one car). May be because of the discount due to home and auto, but I still feel like it is a good deal...

I would recommend Brad Salter at State Farm! He is in Plano, not to mention a Big Vette lover! If you want info, let me know.

I use Bill Martinson State Farm in Arlington across from Frys Electronics. They have been really good, I have had 2 home owners claims this year and my policy never went up, also they replaced all 4 rims and tires when I ran over a log and the rate stayed the same. Give them a call and ext 101 is a friend of mine.

I'm also happy with Sate Farm - Dennis Baker in McKinney is my agent. We had claims on both my wife's '02 Explorer and my '04 CE coupe last year and our renewal rates stayed the same. Very happy with their service.

If you're over 50, try AARP thru The Hartford. I've been with Liberty Mutual for more years than I care to say and Hartford's quote for Auto and Home Owners was less for better coverage. Theirs was over 40% less on Auto for 2 cars and a truck. They were 20% higher for Home Owners, but I almost doubled my home value to keep in line with current real estate values.

I agree with the Hartford Group. My folks have my vette on their insurance plan which also includes two Toyota Camry's & a 2006 Mazdaspeed 6. I believe they have homeowners through them too. All I know is that the break down for me is $133/mo. full coverage for my 2003 C5 Coupe. I'm 28yrs old with a clean driving record.

There's a lot that factors into our vehicle insurance rates, but my wife and I pay roughly $101/month for a 02 4Runner and a 03 Z06. We are both 27, good driving records with USAA.

That's correct - my Dad was in the AF. I didn't know that there was a time limit on how long you could be out and still qualify.

We use Nationwide Insurance Julie Carter Agency, with a 2005 C6, 2007 C6 and a 2007 Tahoe we pay $211.00 a month. I'm 34 and my wife is 35. Hope this helps.

State Farm is not writing new HomeOwner Policies in Texas right now. Auto, yes. Fire, no.

I was told that when we moved here, but found an agent ready to write up the policies without much trouble. I have also been getting hang tags on my front door weekly from 2 different State Farm agents in the Allen area who "want my business" for "auto, home and life policies." Just got one two days ago...

Ohhhh Just talked to my agent.

If someone does not have an auto policy with us, they can get a HomeOwners policy but it will have a 3% deductible.

If they do have an auto policy the HoW deductible will be 2%.

Guess I need to read my emails more often.

www.gettexasinsurance.com

By far the best rate on homeowners insurance. I didn't get a quote on auto yet. I have been with progressive for a couple of years and they give a huge break if you pay for 6 months at a time. Homeowners was half of my previous homeowners policy. $350k house for $1100 a year.

That doesn't seem too far out of line, actually (depending on the coverage). Two fairly new $50k+ cars plus homeowners ins for $200/mo? Homeowners runs about $100/mo alone....

I'm switching my car insurance over 2. www.gettexasinsurance.com by far the cheapest. I have 4 cars (2007 Vette, 2007 Silverado Crew cab, 2004 Lexus ES330, 1996 Vette) all for what Progressive wants just for the 07 Vette. Plus I am now getting a discount on my homeowners. You guys gotta check them out, they are good and the company is Safeco, rated in the top group on homeowners.
