Default !!! NEW GTG LOCATION !!!: Murphy, Plano, Wylie, and surrounding areas

**** NEW LOCATION **** WE HAVE MOVED OUR WEEKLY GTG TO AMADO'S MEXICAN CANTINA LOCATED AT 158 W FM 544 (EVERY SUNDAY @ 6 P.M.).

Wanted to know if there is any interest in meeting once or twice (or weekly) at Amado's Mexican Cantina on 544 in Murphy? With Spring in the air, thought it would be nice to get out and meet some vette owners in the area.

Nothing big, just a time/day/place to show up if you want to.

There's an informal group getting together on Tuesday evenings at Cruiser's in Frisco (see sticky). That's not too far away from your area.

Well, not to rain on Cruiser's group but my brother and I came out a couple of months ago, parked our vettes in line with everyone else, went inside to the patio, and were ignored by everyone there. Not exactly the warm social gathering we were expecting and haven't gone back since.

Perhaps it was out of the ordinary for the group but it still wasn't that great of a time for having to deal with all the traffic and the 45 minutes to get there. Best of luck to everyone at Cruiser's, maybe we'll see you on a cruise sometime.

I'd be in also - I have the hardest time getting to Cruiser's on Tuesdays - something always comes up to keep me away. Just pick a night other than Tuesday...!

I would consider it as this is less than ten miles from either my house or office. Just depends on work travel schedules for me.....

Sunday, Monday or Tuesday works for me. I love taking the ol gal there and ordering a shake. The other ol gal (the missus) likes going there too.

Pick a day and a time and just see who shows up. I'll be there, as I live about 1 minute from that intersection.

Great! Sounds like we could have something started here. I'll speak with the manager to see what can be arranged on a somewhat regular schedule.

Perhaps Sunday evenings would work best for everyone. It would be a good way to end your weekend or start your work week!

I'll post something early next week so we can try for next Sunday.

Ken

Sunday sounds great but Wednesday evening is even better as the misses usually has me doing honey dos on Sunday. I wondered if someone would get a cruise set up for that sonic. It is a great easily accessable location.

Okay, I stopped by and spoke with the manager at Sonic. He said that he would love for us to meet there on Sunday evenings. I think around 7ish to allow it to cool off a bit.

I believe there are 8 parking spots up front along FM 544 and he said that we could use the whole row of stalls next to the Walgreen's if more cars show up.

He wants to see how many participate and plans on offering some food and drink deals to the group. So it sounds like it is a go for this Sunday at 7 p.m. Depending on the weather, it supposed to be partly cloudy 83 - 87 degrees with a slight chance of the "r" word.

I will be there to meet whomever shows up. Also, not that I planned it this way, but Sunday is my b-day

I hope you will be able to stop by, say hi, and have a shake or cold drink.
