If you have been reading any of the automotive magazines out there, you are probably familiar with the "Donut Derelicts" show that happens every Saturday morning in southern California. Car crazy people arrive at a local donut shop with their rides at about 7am and by 9am it's all over. That way you can show your ride, talk with other enthusiasts, check out what everyone else is doing and get on with your weekend. Normally, about 1000 cars attend these events every Saturday.
It sounds like a lot of fun and I would like to get the ball rolling in Albuquerque. I am not expecting 1000 cars, but everything starts out small. Tell your friends, tell your neighbor, tell your ma, tell your pa. It doesn't matter what make of car you have, what year it is or what condition it's in. Please, no "uninteresting" vehicles. You can see those everywhere. Bring your car out, show it off, stay the whole time, or stay as long as you can. There are no entry forms, no entry fee's, no rules, no prizes (what better prize can you have than to drive off in the coolest car around......your own!) Please pass along this message to everyone you know who might be interested!
The location is at the Krispy Kreme at 3301 Juan Tabo NE, between Candelaria and Comanche. There is a large parking lot next to Krispy Creme in front of Defined Fitness on the West side of Juan Tabo, so there is plenty of space for the cars.
All that is planned is to have a place to gather and enjoy the company, sights and sounds of car crazy people just like you!
It all starts this Saturday, April 1st. See you there!
