(PHX) And the saga continues
The County Attorney's non-negotiable plea agreement stated: accept reckless driving charges (8pts/suspension of license) and a $450 fine. I took a motion of continuance to discuss things further with an attorney and delayed proceedings until August. So much for the page of evidence I threw at her to try to bargain for a lesser charge...it wasn't even considered. She said her offer was very generous considering no jail time or community service was imposed.

WTF? Give me a break. There are actually people out there killing, robbing, and mutilating children and she was a biotch like that over something so freaking trivial?
Good God,, our justice system sometimes really makes me wonder. Sounds like you had a chick judge who has had to try to prove herself to daddy for too many years.
Sorry to hear it Dan.

Dam im sorry for you. This is no longer funny (well maby some time in the future ill give you a rash of sh*t, but not now)
I hope that your lawyer is good and has done Tons of traffic violations.
You are in a spot where the County Attorney sees "crovette" and "reckless driving" on a peice of paper. Then they see another peice of paper asking for a lesser charge. They see a slam dunk, when there are Thousands of similar charges done every week, in the same location.
This is a senaro where the inexperience Rookie cop fell asleep during that one day of class, and you have to pay for his ingornance.

so did you have an attorney at the time?
or were you just following the advice of your school attorney that you told us about a while back?
if you didn't have an attorney present, i'd get one quick
if you did, i'd get a new one!
and since you have a continuance until august - here's a few links to keep you busy.

Hi everyone, I am new to the forum and just came across this link. What happened originally? What is the link to the original thread? Sounds like things have gotten way out of hand.

Never mind, found the thread.
That sucks, I would be upset as well. I agree that the officer should have handled it differently such as a stiff warning. I think that the punishment is excessive for what the crime was. And the part about jail time, what a joke. As a tax payer I do not agree with putting someone like you in a jail cell for such a small offense. Use the space for a real criminal.
I would think that the $450 fine plus what you have or will pay for an attorney, plus court costs is more than enough for you to have learned your leason.

You may lose your license for doing a donut in a parking lot??
I used to like AZ.
I'll keep my IL license for now!
I know it's illegal, but so is that sentence!!
Good Luck Dan!!

I have had my share of problems with bad cops back in my long hair days. I once got a reckless driving ticket for fish-tailing and driving erratically on a road I wasn't even near. I had four cop cars and the biggest cop was giving me the evil eye while he petted his gun (he was much bigger than me and was really enjoying intimidating me). Bad cops are one thing, but it is a shame that the county attorney can't see through the bull****.
Keep your chin up and hope you catch a break.

Hey gang. Sorry I haven't been around. Pop hasn't been doing well so I've been spending pretty much all my free time at Chandler Regional. They've fixed his heart good, but unfortunately the attacks and subsequent surgeries have thrown off all his other organs. Over the last few weeks he's had to battle lung infections, water buildup, internal bleeding, kidney malfunctions, and the latest is an enlarged prostate.
As much as I'd like to be out Vetting with you fine folks, spending time with Pop is my priority now. I'm sure yas understand. Thanks in advance for support and prayers.
PS. Am still searching for an attorney...hard to find good help 'round dese parts.

The cop was a sworn officer - doing either means tent city...at least.

First Dan, sorry to hear about your Dad. This is the first I'd heard. He will definitely be in our thoughts and prayers.
Next, I have a guy that works for me that retired from Tempe PD. I'll ask him for the name of any good traffic attorneys he might know. Let us know if you find someone.
