Well, my car is finally built and on its way to Houston. First stop, need a good window tinter. I've lived in Houston for about 14 days now, so I have no idea where to go. Anyone got any reccommendations? Obviously looking for a tinter with a good reputation who can handle the curved rear window and the dot matrix.
I don't know what part of town you live, but this is the guy that did mine. He did an excellent job, especially on the rear window. Kool Karz, 281-395-5665, 22311 Katy Freeway. Ask for Frank.

Xtreme Tint on 1960 between 249, and Perry Road. They have been doing my cars since 1987. They stand by their work. They have done three Corvettes for me, and all have come out great.
Memorial Tint at Gessner/I-10 area has done a couple of mine and a couple of my friends' cars. No complaints and does back glass in one piece. Pablo Blue in the Clear Lake area is supposed to be awesome.
Location: HOUSTON Got me some ENGLANDGREEN Necessary Evil and love it.

Is this near Katy , or what main road off 10 is it on or near?
I went to Xtreme - the location off Louetta and 249 - not too far from the Woodlands. Excellent job with the rear glass dot matrix - no bubbling. Lifetime warranty, and they've been around awhile.
Frank at Kool Kars seems to be pretty highly recommended, so I think I'll give him a shot. Will he do it while I wait (way out in Katy)? and does he work weekends?

Tint is done looks great, will need to take it back next week to have them redo on the dots ,by their request . Great price and a great job , thanks for the tip
Ok, Kool Kars did my tint this morning too. Basically it is an awesome job. Like mojo1, they want me to come back in a couple of weeks to touch up the dots, but they're done surprisingly well at this point.
While I was there, I also had Frank put some Cleartastic film on the front of the car. Yes, it takes a couple of hours, and no, it's not really cheap (but not that expensive either), but Frank's work is nothing short of outstanding. He hand cut all of the film and just did a great job. It's pretty much invisible.
Shortly afterwards, I had a bodyman looking at my paint (terrible orange peel). He was looking over the entire car really close, you know, feeling with his hands and stuff. Pretty soon he gets to the front, and at the very bottom of the airdam, where Frank had to cut the film, there's a verticle seam where the two pieces are butted together. They are sooo close together that its almost invisible. Body man leans waaay in and says, "Why is there a seam in the body here?"
I say, "Frank at Kool Karz down the road put on the clear film for me, and that's where he had to make a cut."
Body man: "Wow"
Me: "Actually he did the whole front end. Everything from the hood down is covered with the film."
Body man leans waaay in again, looks to the edges of the film. "No way!"
