I'd already sent an e-mail to Schwarzenegger. It only takes a few minutes - I'd encourage everyone to take a second and do it. You may not own a pre-74 car now, but if you ever want the chance to mod one in the future, think about weighing in on this bill now.
Unfortunately, both my state senator, Beelzebub (er, I mean, John Burton), and my state assemblyman, Al Franken (er, I mean Joe Nation), voted AYE on the bill.

Your ignorance is showing. The Datsun 510 was the first Japanese car to race successfully in the SCCA beating Alfas and BMWs. Perhaps you should look up the champions of the 2.5 Trans Am series. http://www.supercars.net/cars/1971@$...ans%20Amg.html
And according to the October 2004 Sport Compact Car magazine, who voted the Datsun 510 #9 among the 100 Greatest Sport Compact Cars of All Time, "more than three decades after the last 510 was built, it's still the standard by which all sport compacts are judged."

I've emailed and called and the dems still pushed it through. Can't figure why they are so intent on selling out this country. This insurance excuse is nuts, when does the driver get insured and not the car.

Right on, Herb - those are cool little cars, and can be made to go very quickly!
