Jim came over tonight and helped me install my stingers. They sound awesome (went for a ride after you left Jim). They do pop on de-celleration, but are pretty quiet at cruise speed and are loud at WOT.
I have some install pics I'll post in the general section next week.
BTW, those Jim is gay posts are unwarranted, although he did say he had to go home and get his trunk packed before the trip this weekend... :lolg:

Speaking of x-pipes, Ive heard that they can cut down seriously on the resonance you have with some after market exhaust systems. I love the flowmasters on mine but the resonance at 1800-2000 rpm really blows. Is there any truth to that rumor?

Great choice! I had the popping with my 68 and loved it, hence, my choice to leave out the x-pipe. Welcome to the Stinger club. Within a week, I'll have double-Stingers: Borlas and the new Halltech Stinger intake system.

Wish you were coming too :(
I'm working on next year already :yesnod:
You all have a great weekend and I'll see you this summer again I'm sure

Got mine in the for sale section, they are in there frequently. As it's hard to beat up an exhaust, I consider it a safe buy as long as it's packed correctly.

A & A Corvettes up north generally has some good prices. Call Andy there or Shawn at LAPD. They should give CF members a GENEROUS discount, I would think.

I just had dual Stingers and a Bassani X-pipe installed on our Mag. Red '02 Coupe. I really like the difference in sound and the wife didn't object to the added noise. Even with the X-pipe there is still some popping during decelleration but not obnoxious.
It's still nowhere near as loud as the '69.
I added a Halltech Stinger over the weekend. It took longer to get the OEM stuff off than it took to put on the Halltech. I really don't "get on" the car enough to notice any difference but the exhaust note seems a little more mellow, less crackling.
