The merry men (and ladies) of Open Track Racing are having a track day again at the big track at Willow Springs. Ryan0 and myself, and other Forum regulars, have gone to these events. They are very well organized, lots of track time, etc., $145 with lunch and a T-shirt thrown in for good measure. The number of Vettes in attendance has increased recently. Check it out at http://www.opentrackracing.com - or send me an IM
Ah, the CF cadre is forming. I would also expect Janet and Mike to check in shortly. JoeMoia?
Tupperware forever!!!! I had told Kailo to use my check for the cancelled march event and apply it to the May 19th event. Theoretically that means I was the first one registered for this event. :D
I now have a full Z06 suspension (springs installed today) plus harnesses so Allan you have another opportunity to take credit for improving my lap times :yesnod:
Eric, you better have some more HP as I've alreay told Ryan he'll be eating our (your) dust! :smash:

And so I shall :) I'm not sure I can improve your lap time at Bragg-Smith too much more, and there are much hotter shoes at Willow than yours truly, but if you want to ride along a bit, you're more than welcome. I may have a DCB trick or two under the hood by then
  DCB rules apply? Heck . . . that makes it REAL easy. I'm sure I can cook something up in the next month . . . . hmmm . . . wonder how long it takes Andy to put together a Darton block . . . . . ;)
hi, new to open track here. the website didn't really explain much. do you race with other cars, or is it like time trials? also, are verts allowed?
pinoy -- It's a non-timed DE event, that typically breaks into novice, intermediate, and the truly insane -- it's not wheel to wheel racing persay, as the real goal is to be able to stretch the car's legs, and gain some driving experience. Aside from that, it's a good place to get-together, and try to get Alex sick.
. . . . Oh, wait.
The insurer for most of the CA tracks has been cracking down on Verts, and as such most tracks now require hoops or rollbars for any softtop -- WSIR is no different.
OTR is a great group, and typically has a bunch of vettes. It's a mid-week run which typically ends up being a bit less crowded than most weekend groups. For the price, you can't beat it . . . and it's a great time.
I'm going to try to make it, but I won't be able to sign up until the last minute, as I'm the middle of a job search and don't know where I'll be that far in advance.
I plan to bring my G35 this time, as a) my Z06 needs new front tires before another track event, and b) I want to see what my G35 is like on the track, and it has nice new tires on it ready to be worn out in a day.
I don't know. I have to see my schedule to see if it's okay that I take that day off (I don't know what I'll be doing that day). I just got my '95 yesterday, and after not driving a Corvette for a few months, I'll be very rusty (definitely yellow group). But we'll see. The last one I did was great, so I hope I can do this one.
Bone stock 2001 Pewter Coupe (now with Halltech Stinger-R intake, Z06 clutch parts, sway bars and exhaust, T55 sparkplugs and GMPP wires, '04 Z06 shocks, a bit lower than stock, Kumho MX's, Delrin shift knob, BPP shifter, R-D Racing harness bar, Andy's fine frame and rail protectors)
Only a barrister would continue to call his car "Bone Stock" after all those mods! :lolg:
At what level of modification does your car cease to be stock Allan? :bs :D
