It's starting to look like an even more fun filled weekend!!

Those of you going back to L.A. or San Diego can continue home from there.
If you have any questions e-mail me at zo6stan@lonepinetv.com
If you know for sure that you are coming you need to make reservations right away as rooms are filling fast for our seasonal business.

Stan & Karen
Lone Pine is located on Hwy 395 north of L.A. about 4-5 hours depending on where you live. You can come up the 15 Frwy to 395 and it will take you to Lone Pine. Hwy 395 runs right in front of the Pizza Factory. From Reno and Lake Tahoe, go south on Hwy 395.
Motel Information
I've reserved 15 rooms at the Best Western Motel ( 1 mile south of town 760-876-5571) and 10 rooms at the Dow Motel (760-876-5521 across the street from the Pizza Factory) until the end of this month. Just added : Comfort Inn 15% Discount 50 rooms south of town 1 1/2 miles (760-876-8700) With the possibility of Ridgecrest, Lancaster, Bakersfield, SoCal, Reno and Bishop attending , rooms could fill fast.
Make your reservations ASAP - Mention the Corvette Group when you make your reservations.
UPDATE - 4-13-04
For Sat., I'm planning a short cruise up to the base of Mt. Whitney 8,300 ft. ( Mt. Whitney is 14,495 ft. ) Those interested will meet at Diaz Lake south of town at 4:30. Coming north you will see the lake on your left just before you come into town. The desk clerks can give you directions.
Update 3-21-04
I made my final route plans for this short cruise sat. ( about 1 1/2 hours total ) and it will be a cruise within itself on sat. It will be a beautiful contrast of scenery from Lone Pine and then to Death Valley on Sunday.
Everyone will be on their own for breakfast on Sunday morning. The Best Western and the Comfort Inn all have a continental breakfast.
Update 4-4-04
I've changed the departure time from 8:00 to 9:00 on Sunday morning. This way we can enjoy the party sat. night and not have to be up so early on Sunday. This should give us plenty of time to make our 12:00 lunch time. As we get closer to the 17th and I have a better idea of who is coming, I will have a complete schedule for that weekend.
Update 4-7-04
There is a 72 hour cancellation policy for those of you that have already paid for the brunch at the Inn
Daily Weather Updates Here 4-16-04
Weather outlook for Lone Pine:
Saturday 17th---60/40 Partly Cloudy
Sunday 18th---62/42 Mostly Sunny
Death Valley:
Sunday---80/62 Mostly Sunny
Don't forget your 2-way radio
Bring extra water
I've changed the sat. cruise time and Pizza Party times so as to allow for travel, check-in and rest time for that day. Check here throughout the week for any possible changes.
The new times are final
It will be alittle chilly at the Portals for the sat. cruise and we will have a 10 min. hike to the waterfalls, so wear tennis shoes, long pants and a sweatshirt --oxygen mask optional
Local Car Show Update: I just talked to our local Chamber office and 40+ cars have signed up for the Rod & Cycle Show this weekend. Those of you interested in the show may want to leave alittle earlier so you can check out the cars and still make the 4:30 run to the Alabama Hills and the Portals. This is going to be an awesome weekend for car lovers of all kinds!!!
11:00 Sat. I will meet everyone coming from the south at Brady's Store / Mobil Gas at the 395/14 merge on your left
4:30 Sat. meet at Diaz Lake for the Alabama Hills/Whitney Portal cruise
6:30 Sat. Pizza Party
8:00-8:30 Sun. Gas up and meet at the Visitor Center for driver meeting and leave by 9:00
Sun. 12:30 Brunch at the Inn
Tuesday is the cut off day for payment to me at the Inn. Late arrivals can make arrangements at the Inn by calling David Woodruff at 760-786-3355 (mention Corvette Group)
Saturday night I will have name tags for everyone. You will need your name tag for Sunday's brunch.
Also Sat. night I will make sure you all know where to meet on Sunday.
You can e-mail me at zo6stan@lonepinetv.com if you have any questions or call me at 760-876-5465

Looks like we have a few "Stans"in the area. Few weeks back I answered one of Stano's posts and I think he thought I was the Stan from Ridgecrest with a heavly moded C5. At any rate my wife and I would like to sign up for the cruise and meet the others. What are the details?

Stan,
Made my reservations.
Did you have to reserve the most expensive rooms in the town for us??!!
(or were the cheap ones just all taken by the time I called...?)
I figured a little podunk town that's barely on a map should have rooms for $8 a night!!!! Ha!! Fooled me!
Breakfast at Seasons cancelled??? :cry
I was REALLY looking forward to that...
We need to start a caravan from SD on Saturday, picking up cars in Orange and Riverside on the way. Jim?
