Default question for Las Vegas residents...

hello all! Wife and I are probably going to take a trip to Las Vegas sometime next year. We want to spend a day checking out the suburbs to see if this might be a future home sight for us. I would definitely appreciate help from locals as far as where to look at and where to stay away from. I've checked a lot of real estate sights with some nice homes, but everyone claims to have the best schoolss blah, blah, blah. I would appreciate input from locals. Thanks. :seeya

Thanks for the info. How about Henderson, is that a good area?

Check out Summerlin. It's a lot nicer than Henderson, which has a few bad spots.

:iagree:

My folks and my sister live in Summerlin, it's very nice. Avoid North Las Vegas and Henderson. West side is much better, even southwest is good.

Summerlin is nice but depending on what you do for work it can be one hell of a commute. There are a ton of new homes that look to be the center of a decent community 20+ min south and southwest of the strip. I live in Central (Desert Inn & Eastern) and at first where it seamed like it may be a little rougher than I like, I now feel very safe and like almost everything about it. Now if you have kids... I wouldn't recommend raising them around were I live. With some scouting you can find a great place for cheap. In the end... Summerlin (even the other side of 95) or South, what the others said. :)

Love Las Vegas! I use to live there and I still love the place. It would be good to visit and see Vegas for yourself. The area out towards Mt. Charleston and west - southwest of I-15 have new homes....the area is lovely.
