Weve been talking about it for a while and have tentatively settled on feb 1 as a good date. Well start at the March Air Museum at 9 am then thru the "badlands" on the 60 to Banning and up the side of the mountain to Lake Fulmor and on to Idylwild. Maybe lunch there then on to Mountain Center to Anza Borrego desert out to Temecula.
The route is really all still fluid at this point. Well prolly decide it there at the museum. Rocco16 has already emailed the Air Museum to set aside a section of the parking lot for a "fleet" of vettes (there was a thread a while back as to exactly what a group of vettes would be called and "fleet" was the consensus). People could even bring steaks and such as they have nice bbq and picnic places at Lake Fulmor on the proposed route.
Nothing fancy, no hard and fast rules...just some people looking to have some fun with our vettes, what do you say? :auto: :blueangel:

Re: a mountain cruise feb 1 starting at the March Air Museum (Bob Blackmon)
 on the mountain portion. We could continue thru Palm Springs and then Joshua Tree, ending for dinner at the All American BBQ in Joshua. Al lot of driving, but scenic and fun. It would be better to leave later to catch sunset in the Park, which is always pretty.

Halo, I'm in too. But it better not be snowing up on that mountain!!
The museum at March AFB is very unique, I think. Especially if you're in the 40-60yr. old range, like me. Lots of aviation history that brings back memories for me when I'm there. I love that stuff!
Keep us informed on the cruise.

I was there last weekend and there was snow in the shade and Lake Fulmor was still about half froze over. Nothing on the road at all though. It was a damned fine ride lemme tell ya :steering: :blueangel:
