Tacoma Hooters! Let's Cruise - Sunday Feb 2
I posted this earlier.. but I didn't do a good job of making the topic title clear... So here goes .
I just noticed there is finally a Hooters in Tacoma! (right off I-5 between 56th and 72nd Streets) Let's shoot for the last Sunday of the month...January 26th (lets say.. 11AM unless you want to do it after church!). If you are interested, post your intent here. If there's enough interest I will call and warn... I mean set up something with the Hooters management. This will be a great op to meet local CF brothers and sisters!! Who knows maybe this could turn into a regular thing???
[Modified by XmentalPilot, 6:32 PM 1/11/2003] EDIT!!!! Let's not try to do this on Superbowl Sunday... probably a bad idea... how about the following Sunday at 1pm (Feb 2)
I'll do it if not raining. That's not Superbowl Sunday is it? 11:00 is early maybe 1:00. If it doesn't work out I'm going to try to set up a weekly or monthly get together this year at our business. We own the mini-golf, batting cages, and go-kart track in the Puyallup valley off I-512.

P.S. I programmed the machines that made your wheels. :yesnod:

Hi Mike...
For sure if the WX is good it would be fun to get some of the PNW Corvette Forum folks together.... the 26th IS Super Bowl Sunday... but if anyone is interested in an alternate activity... we can still do this... If the 26th thing does not work out count me in for your event in Puyallup... anything I can do to help put it together... just let me know! We can try and pull this together another Sunday if there is not enough interest..
I am definately interested in some sort of regular event in the south sound area. Last week-end there was a meeting of Z06's at Hooters in Tacoma (I missed it).I have to work the 26th :cry (not everyone has week-ends off) but will keep checking the forum for future events.

Trying to put this together on ther 26th is probably a bad idea.. Hooters will probably be having some kind of Super Bowl event... So let's try the following weekend... on Sunday Feb. 2.... and we'll plan for 1 PM?? What do you think???

I too am currently working weekends until about the middle of February. But my shift doesn't start until 1500 (3:00pm to you normal folks out there) so I could do something earlier, but since I drive my PD car to and from work it's not real practical until I have weekends off.
As for the Puyallup get-togethers, I know exactly where that is and have been meaning to stop in there. That sounds like a lot of fun! I'll keep checking back for updates.
We'll be opening up on Friday thru Sunday after SuperBowl weekend. I have a gas bbq and picnic tables. I have some EZ-ups to cover the tables. Plenty of parking either in the field or parking lot. I can section off an area of paved parking depending on how many show up. We don't run the karts on rainy days track is too slippery. I'll supply a couple of Pepsi product drinks if someone wants to run the grill. We could do a customers pick best car or just a show and shine. I'll put up some free go-kart passes or family packs if everyone wanted to pitch in $10 and have relay races on the go-karts. Mini-golf or batting competititions. If not that's OK too. Just want to show up and hang around is cool. It's pretty much up to whatever anyone wants to do. Could use it as a "base" for a poker run or whatever, my employees could help out some what.
I had go-kart leagues going last year, I was surprised at how intense it got. I kind of take the whole place for granted anymore.
Wow Mike. That sounds like a really great time :steering: and a super deal on price. Definitely count me in!! :hurray: And what's even better, my new house should be done by this summer, so I'll be only about 10 minutes away from any events you have during our prime weather months
It is kind of cold and damp right now, it's a lot more fun when it gets a little warmer. I'll do a search of CF members in a 50 mile radius and form a list. Maybe I can just set aside a spot for anyone who wants to show up just any weekend. Like I said it's whatever everyone wants. I just think it would be cool to have a lot of vettes around.
Finally its seems I can meet some CF members in the area...Tired of hearing how other members got together and did this and that. :yesnod: Count me in to whatever event is planned out. Seems like most of you guys have C5's, poor old me in my C4. Arent we all looking foward to some sunshine...ok ok and HOOTERS...
Re: Tacoma Hooters! Let's Cruise - Sunday Feb 2 (XmentalPilot)
I am definately up for an event in Feb. :D
Did the Z06 Tacoma Hooters event a few weeks ago, about 7 Z06's. Nice day, we took a cruise down to the Tacoma Waterfront and Point Defiance.
Last Saturday did a tech session (GM Tech II, EFI Live, & LS1Edit) at Competition Development then a bunch of us took a cruise to the XXX Drive-in located in Issaquah for lunch. On the way we all got to play with a 550 Maranello on I-90 :D. Rob in his yellow heads/cam Z06 pulled on him nicely
Re: Tacoma Hooters! Let's Cruise - Sunday Feb 2 (vrumvrum)
In response to regular events:
Here at Competition Development, we host monthly technical / informational sessions. These sessions are the 3rd Saturday of every month from 11:00am to 12:30pm, and they can cover a variety of topics. This month we did an overview of the software tools used to diag. and tune customers’ cars, i.e. GM Tech II, EFI Live, and LSx Edit. Next month a Zaino rep will be stopping in the cover the Zaino product line and to offer hints and tips... Check out our events @ http://www.competitiond.com/news.html.
