Is Westend Alignment in Gardena still in business? I tried calling and got a no longer in service message?

I saw your message about West End so I called over there and Chris answered right away. The phone number I used is 310 808-9233.

Talking with Chris, he just told me they are moving in two weeks so that is causing a ton of near term scheduling hassles. Call and see what you can arrange.

If you need an alternative, you can try Rob over at Chewerks in City of Industry near you. I've been going to him for 5+ years now for alignment/corner balancing. I used to go to West End and think very highly of Darren and his work as well.

Rob just realigned my C6Z a few weeks ago and I couldn't be happier with the new setup.

Thank You! I was hoping it was maybe a missed dialed phone number. That is excellent news.

I have been turned onto to Chewerks by a co-worker that is in some popular import racing series with Rob. I honestly thought he was just a import tuner specialist and didn’t think that he worked on domestics much less Corvettes. That is considerably closer to me than Gardena. Thank You for your insight and experience.

Did Chris share where they are moving to?

He’s one of the few that knows how to set rear caster on C7s.

West End is the best alignment shop in SoCal. If you can't get in because of their move, try Johnson's on Hawthorne in Torrance. They are very experienced in track alignments as well.

I agree, Johnsons is where the the guy who started west end alignment worked before starting his own shop. Another shop with a very strong local reputation is porters, in north Redondo Beach, just a few steps away from fast car restoration, where hand formed aluminum and exotic sports cars are the normal stuff, so will give you something to look at while you wait, if you are respectful of the private business.

I was very happy with south end , but if I was out of the area, I would just call a few body shops in my area for an alignment shop recommendation. Because, usually they just remove and replace parts , counting the turns as they remove and replace suspension parts. occasionally , they get an alignment problem they can't handle in house, so know the best local guys to work with.

I used to take my fleet utility trucks to Johnsons until I found out they were charging me for OEM GM parts but actually installing O'Rreilly parts on my truck. They tried denying it at first and were giving me a really bad attitude but when I showed them the proof they started apologizing and being super nice. I take all of my fleet pickup trucks and personal trucks to Porters but I wouldn't take my vette there.

West End is currently closed as the owner of their previous location sold the property and they had to move out quickly. Last I spoke with them they were still looking for a new location.

A quick follow-up on that one - does anyone know if West End found a new location yet?

Thanks for the update on Johnsons, I guess someone important over there moved on and it now has a new business model, called, "ripping you off". Glad for the better info, I would hate to keep recommending these guys based on old info, too bad they have gone to the all too common buyer beware auto service school of business. They bought the name, and now screw it up, not smart.
