I am looking for a shop in the San Diego area to do some general work to my C3 from time to time. I took it to a Corvette Specialty shop over by Miramar and I wont go back. The quality of the work performed was just sub-par and the communication from the shop was non-existant. Any recommendations on a good shop preferably in the East County area of San Diego?

I recommend JBA Speed Shop off Kearny Villa Road in San Diego.

I had the same experience as you with several of the "Corvette" shops in town. I know the one you are referring to, and I see nothing has changed in 10 years!

On my C1, I do most things myself, but I've found a local, honest general repair shop that has done a few projects for me (Clutch, steering box).
I think the C3 would be the same.. Nothing rocket science there.. Just old-school automotive know-how needed.

Yeah, I found a local guy who is willing to work on the car but he has a few lined up prior to mine, not that I need anything done right now but if I do in the future I just need to get in line.

Corvette Specialty is the name of a shop on El Cajon Blvd near 805. There is also the Corvette Shop in Kearny Mesa. Have not used either.

Same here for the last 10 years The Corvette shop owner Larry Hoffer has handled all the work on both my Vettes.

I am picking up a Corvette this Saturday from Menefee but I live in San Diego, it's a C6 Grand Sport, good to know about Corvette Shop in Kearny Mesa.
Do you guys know someone north? near Menefee, Hemet or Murrietta?
