I think the whole vote was rigged! Think about it, I don't think any sane working person would vote to spend more money on gas. Are there that many irresponsible, dumb Millennial's out there to pass the measure?
The political machine in California is totally out of control. Constantly looking for what they can tax, inventing new taxes, and lying about where the money goes. The gas tax is supposed to be for road repair (HAH!) what happened to the taxes and fed money from the last lie? And roads still are not repaired and will not be repaired with the new tax. Maybe they will build another high speed train to nowhere. What are they doing with the billions collected since they made pot legal?
Kamala, Jerry, Garcetti, Fienstein, Waters, and all the rest of the political crooks raping CA working class and businesses will not stop and will only get worse.

So, some gas station would not let you pump your own gas and it ends up being some politicians fault? Lol!

Millennials aren’t driving, they take ride share. Those that voted were happy to vote for another tax.

As a millennial, I disagree lol. Maybe in the metropolitan areas, but most my age I know (in Orange County) drive and only use ride share for alcohol-related adventures and trips to the airport.

Anyone noticed how much registrations have crept up? right .
Worker at DMV was telling me how much goes towards road repairs and smog programs. She rolled her eyes as she spoke. Only a small % actually went towards actual reg fees
Used to be the older your car was the more it went down .

You do not realize how much you are actually paying in sales taxes! It used to be the state collected the sales tax, and then distributed it to the county and cities. Now, they keep it all.

I have wondered why the sales tax did not match up to what they were charging me. I just go an invoice from an out of state company with a breakdown on the taxes. They were charging me state sales tax, a county tax, and a city tax It used to be you paid shipping on an item from a non-brick and mortar site and no sales tax. Now, you pay both!

The bond issues are always advertised as going to do some goody, goody cause. The funds go for welfare programs, public sector union pension funds, and hiring more government workers for California's bloated bureaucracy.

ONE GOOD THING!!!!! The welfare bleeders and illegal immigrants have to pay the gas tax also. The more revenue the state gets from the welfare/illegal immigrants means that much less they'll have to get from middle class income tax.
