Default C6 in need of new tires

Hey people, long time no lurk!

My C6's rear left tire has (what I think) a puncture or something that keeps deflating it. The tires aren't in the best shape anymore as it is so I would like a tire place/shop to be recommended to and if you've upgraded your tires on your C6 id like to know your experience with what type of tires you upgraded to.

Any help would be amazing. Size im looking for is stock.

thank you!

I went with the Continental extreme contact DW's in the rear (very affordable). Discount Tire Direct has an online $100 off a $400 or more purchase from their ebay store. I'm running yokohama take-offs from a mitsubishi evo on the fronts, but that is another story (yokohama A13C)

The DWs are a fair tire, handle predictably and lasted me about 25,000 miles. The best tire with longivity and maximum grip hands down (YMMV) is the Michelin Pilot Super Sports. The Michelin PS2 are good also, have slightly more grip, but don't last as long and cost more. About $1,300 installed from Americas Tire. I am on my second set if that is any indication of how much I like them.

well I just checked the coupon expired, but last time it discounted the Conti DW's down to about $215 ea on the rears.

Another avenue i was interested in next time was to see how much the C7 oem runflats cost. The regular non-Z51 coupe runs the same sizes as C6 coupes.

I'm very happy with my Bridgestone Potenza RE050A Pole Position RFT's, but I don't know if they come in base C6 sizes.

Eliza,

Have you gone to the www.tirerack.com ? And plugged in your Vette year or tire size? You would be amazed at what options there are for different price ranges. When I was on a budget a couple of years ago the rack really came through...they can direct ship to your shop and offer road hazard warranty and shipping isn't bad...

While on either side of hermosa beach on PCh , in Redondo and Manhattan there are tire shops, hermosa is small and has no tire shops on Pch.

Several posters in the past have mentioned Fremont tire as a top seller in the L.A area, I have not been there. A local aerospace engineer with a c5 recommended Globe tire in Manhattan beach to me for simple repairs, to follow the others posters recommendation of this shop for tires. I haven't been there either. I'm the wall flower type.

All the best with your buying decision. I'm on Kumho get flats in the stock sizes and doing fine.

Sent you a PM, noticed you are a LA local. Hankook Ventus V12s are awesome replacements and are priced very well compared to the bigger names.

Good choice. I put them on my ZR, The PS2 is not available for the ZR. If you find them check the manufacturing date.

Discount Tire has their $100 off any ebay purchase over $400 again. Promotion Code: CMOTORS415. It is good until May 5th. I got 4 tires for my mustang coming on this deal.

The gimmick is the ebay store raises the prices of the tires a little, but you still save $50-$60 over ordering it directly through their website. Shipping is included and no sales tax on the ebay store. You can take them to America's tire/Discount tire and they won't over charge to mount the tires since they have to honor sales from corporate.
