Anyone Find a Reasonable So. Calif. Dealer Yet?
After looking on Autotrader and visiting a few dealers with stock, So. Calif. dealers continue to stubbornly insist that their vets are rare and thus worth no less than sticker, even at model year end. About a third of them still think a +$5,000-$10,000 market adjustment is justified, and others won't sell without useless/redundant dealer add-ons like lojack.
Has anyone found an exception in this sea of lunkheads?

by now i'm sure you've done the whole thread search thing and realized that if a dealer is still in denial about reality, then it's not going to change anytime soon until the 2015s are actually in dealers hands. your best bet is to go go a forum dealer and buy one.

Don't limit your search to your local area if they are asking unwilling to negotiate a better price. Many of the large forum dealers will give you a good price on a new C7.

Call Theo at Rydell in Northridge. Dont talk to anyone else. He is the corvette specalist there and he not your typical B.S. car salesman. Rydell sells at sticker on the z51. I just bought a Tahoe today from him and they have about 10-15 vettes in stock but a lot of them are verts. Tell him Scott referred you, he knows who I am.

I got jerked around (read lied to) by a local dealer. I stopped payment on my $5,000 deposit and went with Kerbeck in Atlantic City, NJ. They had 90 C7s in stock and in transit from the fasctory. I picked out exactly what I wanted (crystal red vert, Kalahari 3LT, Z51, NPP, MSRC, chrome wheels) on their website MSRP. It was somewhere going in the wrong direction from KY to NJ. I paid Montway out of Chicago $1,600 to ship it enclosed. I wired Kerbeck a deposit and 10 days later a transporter unloaded it in the street in front of my house. PM me if you want referral details.

But they won't honor GMS so I ordered and bought from McMulkin in NH (non Z51)

Jason at Selman in Orange was very good with my mom when she bought her 2010 Camaro SS. She worked with him for like a year before the 5th gen arrived. Never treated her like a dumb woman or tried to hard sell her.
I worked with Jason, but he couldn't find the exact GS I wanted (M6's really limit your options), so I went with MacMulkin in NH. MacMulkin's deals on a 2011 in August 2011 were so good, I covered the cost of shipping to CA and broken even vs a CA car. YMMV on C7's.

I bought mine new from Les Stanford Chevrolet in Michigan, another high volume dealer and forum sponsor. I bought a '12 centennial edition vert, and I paid for my own shipping as well from MI to CA and that price was still cheaper than the coupe centennial my local dealer was selling. Don't limit yourself to local only, great deals all over the country.

I got my ZO6 from Wesloh Chevy in Carlsbad last Nov and they were super nice and honest. I bought used so I dealt with Lance the used car manager and Mike one of his sales guys. They sell a good number of vettes and they were one of the first dealers at that time that had stock of the C7's.
Rydell is good to and Donny in service is a vette genius but be on notice that he is always busy so having him work on your car will take longer but he can diagnose issues in minutes that others could never figure out in days. He is the Vette guru. A quick example is my friend had one of his vette customers he did a cam for with an 06 X was having crazy electrical issues that no dealer near him could figure out. They change the BCM fuses the battery relays since it was making his ABS go on above 65mph and his windows would roll up and down on their own and get weird DTC's and active handling error messages. He chased it for 2 months then sent the car to my friend who took it to Donny and after about 20min of doing that Voodoo that he do so well he said it was a faulty alternator even though it was charging it had a bad diode causing AC current to leak back into the harness or something which sent everything for a loop. The other dealers didn't even think to check the ALt because it was charging but because they were not up on the common issues with vettes they didn't check it. Donny knows all the issues well. I think I may have the same issue going on now and I am trying to get him to look at my car ASAP.

I tried and tried in SC.... Boardwalk was rude and wouldn't deal at all on a 2012 GS... Not saying they are not good, yet when I called them they treated me poorly at best.. Not saying they are not good, but at least they were not to me....... Bottom line.... Work with one of the good venders on CF.... I ended up saving over $10,000 from Fichtner. Can't tell you about the new management there, but I was very happy with them. I had a courtesy delivery in Ventura California and it worked out the best. While I was taking delivery I, was speaking to one of the salesmen at that dealership, and he was how shall I say... Shocked at what I really paid. Now, I know the C7 is hot and I saw a Z06 today in Bowling Green today. (That will be my next so help me) With that said, don't expect much off of sticker if anything... At least not yet.
Bottom line is expand your horizon and work the system. You will be surprised at what you can accomplish....
