Default Shorty CARB Legal Headers for a C6?

Is anyone aware of a place selling these? I'm having no luck finding any. I own a 2006 with 2.5 B&B Fusion Exhaust that I'd like to keep.

I just searched the CARB database (http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/aftermk...es/amquery.php) and didn't find any for 05+ Vettes.

there are none... the real trick setup is installing a z06/zr1 manifolds and cats. worth about 10 rwhp on a factory ls2/3... it will be a factory setup so, the smog police shouldn't notice a difference

Thx. I've got a set of these in my garage, along with reducers. I had hoped to just go an easier route and only have to install shorty headers. Now I need to decide if I want to get out of my 2.5 B&B and have 3 inch all the way or install 3 up front and reduce down to 2.5 at the back. I was too concerned about HP gains as I have a supercharger but really want more muscle sound with LT headers and worrying about passing smog.

California is so phucked up about this it is unreal.

I was thinking about an LNG conversion but then was told you still have to run a cat!

Those are not cheap, and I thought $225@ was bad.

How will you get the car smogged without cats? Or is this just a track car?

LT headers are not legal in any state. However there are a large number of states that don't check the position of the cats so long as they have them. And there are a larger number of states that only do the OBD2 ALDL test, which of course can be easily fixed.

California currently uses a Dyno run sniffer test as well as the OBD2 test along with a visual inspection. Jan 1 of 14 they are moving to an OBD2 ALDL test but will retain the visual inspection and all STAR smog stations do a very thorough visual. All non STAR stations my not, but most non STAR stations want to become STAR stations so shy away from anything with headers or obvious aftermarket gear even if is is legal as they are not yet smart enough to know what is legal and what isn't. (which of course is why they aren't STAR certified yet).

I do know of one station owner that has no desire to get STAR certified but I couldn't get my 93 Camaro smogged there because the Tech he uses wants to become STAR certified so he can make more money and declined to even do the smog test.

Check out CMS or RPM Motors. They can both do the install and tune at their shops and they are board sponsors too.

Magnaflow makes the shorty for the C6 now. Colorado speed is selling them for under 800. Check out their website.
