I've stayed at the Silver Legacy, it's okay, I just used it for a place to S S & S. It's right at the focal point of the daily awards and nightly cruises.

GSR, Grand Sierra Resort in Reno. That's the main place. Don't get a room on the "beach" side. Seriously, they have a nightclub called "The Beach", will keep you up all night.
Several others are good too.

The Grand Sierra is the main hotel. If you register to show your car, that's where you'll check in. Nice place. They've worked to modernize it a bit the last few years. They didn't have enough parking for the guests last year cause they had converted some of the parking area to a test drive area.
The Nugget is on one end of the area. Its old but had great parking for my trailer last year. Its right off Victoria Street which is one of the cruise areas. Its on the opposite end of the action from the Atlantis and the Convention Center, which is where the Barrett Jackson auto auction is.
