Window tint enforcement (LA)
I have a question about window tint enforcement (particularly in LA). How heavy/serious is the enforcement of tint laws in the area? Should I be concerned about correcting it to avoid attention?
Background: I fly for the Coast Guard and I just picked up orders to LA (flying out of LAX). Coming from Florida I have 35% front and 20% rear coverage. I DD my vette, so I'll be out and about with it. I'll be keeping my Florida plates/Registration/Residency
Also, I don't need anybody quoting the law... I read that already. I'm asking how heavily its enforced, kinda like speeding
Thanks in advance!

Per the letter of the law, no tint or obstructions on the diver or passenger window is allowed. This also included GPS units or rear view mirror decoration that is in the drivers’ direct line of sight.
Now, it's ultimately will come down to the officer’s judgment. What I tell customers is that “If the cop is having a bad day, then you’re going to have a bad day.”
The misconception is the tint number given. The lower the number, the darker the tint. Meaning 20 lets 20% light penetration, where 70 is a lighter tint allowing 70% light through.

From my experience LA cops do not target Corvettes. 20% rear is legal, 35% front is technically illegal but light enough that many people run with that with no issues. I had that exact setup and lived in LA for two years without a hitch. No front plate either.
Edit: though with out of state plates who knows.

Don't drive rice with 20% or you are guaranteed to be pulled over , but in your Vette, like was said before you'll be fine, and If you have a nice Vette he'll probably pull you over to check out your car and say nice car have a good day sir.

Since the car will have Florida plates on it, no way are they going to cite you. They will think you are a tourist. They will choose to hassle the residents of the state who pay taxes which pay their salaries.
