Front License Plate issues?
I bought a brand new Vert last month. I remember the dealer telling me "We don't put the front plate brackets on Vettes, but here are the brackets." I was just wondering, for those of you who don't have front plates, how often does the CHP or other L.E. Agencies pull you over for that? This will be my DD, so I will be commuting on the freeway a lot.

Be careful where you park. If you frequently park on public streets where meter maids patrol, then expect a lot of tickets. As far as actually being pulled over for no front plate though, it finally happened to me last month for the first time in nearly 5 years.

Fortunately, I will park in a private parking lot at work. I don't see myself parking in the street very often. Thanks for the tip though. That is good to know.

Never been stopped for no front plate however I did get a parking ticket for no front plate in Lancaster while visiting a friend who was appearing at the court there. Came out and the meter maid guy just put the ticket on my Saleen Mustang for no plate. $28 with correction as i recall.

It is amazing how many cars I see without front license plates. Not only do many sports and high performance cars not have plates, but I also see ordinary sedans and pick-ups without them too. Police could give tickets all day long for no front plates.
The important thing is to stay out of public parking lots and metered areas that are patrolled. I heard that airports parking lots are really bad for gettng tickets for this.

I got a ticket in LAX Parking Lot C before. The ironic thing is they actually lost money on the deal, since I will NEVER AGAIN park there, and will instead park at private lots/garages.

Same thing happened to me with my Navigator. I always park in a private lot now with no front now and never have any issues so far they have lost $300.00+ no wonder why the city is broke LOL

Happened to my '65 parked in Santa Barbara too. Car was "at the shop" at the time, and I came to find out that they were using it as a driver. Ticket was issued at like 2:00 AM! Needless to say I made them pay the ticket.

I picked up a $55 no front plate ticket while parked in a walmart parking lot in Highland. It was posted that the Vehicle Code was observed in the lot.
It was not a fix-it ticket, they just wanted the cash.

We all know our cars are supposed to have two license plates. We all know that window tint on the front windows is illegal. We all know that talking on a cell phone is illegal. The list goes on and on. This discussion continues to come up over the years on this forum. Everyone in here is responsible for their own actions and behavior. So why complain and blame the system for enforcing law. Pay the fines when getting caught for knowingly breaking the law. Or, change the law. I'm not putting a plate on my front bumper. I'll pay the fine when my number comes up and not whine about it.
